Updated with this past weekend's numbers. Interesting again to see Ryan Tella is our leading hitter. Also Tomscha had a quiet weekend. Also we are struggling on the basepaths as we are 3-9 on steals... Losing to MTSU hurts but glad to see we fought back. Personally I think we can't drop but one more out of conference game considering how weak of a schedule it is

Seems that guys getting picked off should count against stolen bases or something....had waaay too many close plays on PO attempts by the other side...maybe just the guys being agressive but hate to see it happen.

Otherwise, great job on the numbers....Surprised that the new guys doing so well...gives me some encouragement for the season.

Finally got around to updating this again. Gotta say it is really surprising to see that this team is actually a pitching team not a hitting team. Our 3 starters have great ERAs (Koger - 2.42, O'Neal 1.40, McCord - 3.44) along with Kendrick and Camp dominating out of the pen. Average wise we only have 3 guys above the .300 mark (Cooper, Austin, Ebert). But it does appear we are doing a solid enough job of driving guys home when they get on base seeing as we put up a lot of runs most games. We will find out this weekend in a hurry if this solid pitching start is the real thing or if the weak schedule has bloated our stats. Vanderbilt is good this year and the kid they are throwing Friday is just sick. His last 2 starts he has thrown 2 complete games, struck out 28, and only given up 3 hits. Needless to say Koger needs to be on tomorrow night. Would be a huge confidence boost if we took 2 of 3 but we absolutely need to get at least one. Getting swept multiple times killed us last season.

War Eagle!

I updated the post. It is interesting to see that now SEC play has arrived that Burgreen and Ebert's numbers are dropping while Wacker, Cooper, and Tomscha's are starting to climb. Wacker seems to be getting his bat back and Cooper has continued his steady pace. It all comes down to someone stepping up getting hits when there are runners in scoring position. If that doesn't happen then we will continue to struggle. If it does every click then we still got a chance at postseason play. We really needed to get a game in each of these past series as 2-4 is much more maneagable than 0-6. Really could use a sweep of the good kind this weekend but I will take a series win if we can get it
