We are just plain suck. We are mistreated because we have sailors on their knees hands behind head when we are told that is exactly what to do on police orders here.

Are you comparing our sailors to people suspected of wrong doing and being asked by OUR OWN to put their hands up?

True.. And just like the Iranians , the cops yell "death to America " over and over and over.

You don't think the Coast Guard would treat a boat full of armed men who ventured into our waters the same way?

that is my point. in their territory they are the authority. you either submit to them or fight them. i doubt the president ordered our sailors to surrender as he was likely not aware of situation yet. they were not mistreated and released hours later. just what the hell do they expect he do? get mad, make a threat, storm the boat and risk killing the sailors? nobody was wrong except those trolling about it.

"nobody was wrong except those trolling about it."

Could be a subject of much debate. I think what most people object to is the obsequious apology that had to have been coerced from the american. That goes against everything military training instructs which means, IMO, the apology was probably coerced...maybe even at gun point. That act. which they videoed, had significant propaganda value to the Iranians who themselves said it should serve as a warning to those in Congress in America who may wish to start trouble with Iran. The people we're talking about here is the largest state sponsor of terror in the world. The Iranians were wrong my friend!

"Obsequious" is your term. I didn't see it as "obsequious". Is your basic problem he apologized at all?

I'll just drop this article here.

The ramifications of this incident are unclear. On the one hand, there are some positive signs. For one, escalation was avoided and the IRGC released the sailors and boats relatively quickly. This is a testament to the new avenues of diplomacy established between the Obama administration and the Rouhani government. The effort to resolve the situation included direct engagement between Secretary of State John Kerry and Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif. With Kerry and Zarif, there are now clear and open channels of communication between Washington and Tehran. This is something that did not exist a few years ago, and a very positive sign.

On the other hand, the recent uptick in the IRGC’s provocative behavior is worrisome. Not only does it put improving but fragile relations between Washington and Tehran in jeopardy, it undermines security in the Persian Gulf, and makes conflict a very real possibility. Iran should be building on the nuclear deal to improve relations with its neighbors and the United States, and re-emerge from its isolation. The nuclear deal showed a side of the Iranian regime that many doubted existed. Iran could compromise, it could build trust, and it could move on from the belligerence of the days of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. But the IRGC does not seem to want to move on.

So, I guess the psychopaths should double down and start trouble anyway? How is that statement not defensive in nature?

"If we stray into foreign waters, it's always a mistake, and if you don't want hell unleashed on you, you'll let it pass without incident. If you stray into our waters, we reserve the right to do whatever the &^$% we want. Why? We're America!!! F*$k yeah!!!"

Millions of Americans believe this. If they somehow stoppped or were disregarded as they should be, the source of many of our problems in foreign affairs would dry up overnight.

We have 1000's of armed folks cross our borders every damn day, an our military, our border patrol, doesn't flinch. The Mexican military and para military units have crossed our borders, with out permission, and we've not done a damn thing.

But there's more than merely floating a few hundred meters or what ever too close to a island in the middle of the Persian Gulf. There was the videos, and the apology, unwarranted ( so says Joe Biden ) and yet it was aired, by Iran, on purpose, for propaganda. ... No thinking individual can sit there and claim there's nothing wrong with any of that.

What the hell does that even mean ? Biden says we shouldn't apologize, and the skipper of the boats apologized.

Oh yeah, there's your thinking individuals there.

There are plenty who have a big problem with how this played out, whether you want to admit or not.

I imagine he's never been detained before and was a little scared. I'll gladly give him a pass. He got all of his people home safe and that was likely his main motivation. Irrational righties be damned.

My favorite theory - presented yesterday on local talk radio - was that Obama staged the whole thing to justify his nuclear agreement with Iran. He ordered the U.S. boats to be captured.
