What was the point of starting Podany if you're only going to give her 1 AB?

She was lifted because A) we needed the pinch hitter for her 2nd at bat, whose hit broke the game open and B ) After that we had a big lead and several bench players got to get in the game. Podany wasn't the only starter that gave up at-bats for this reason.

She was the only starter with just 1 PA. The pinch hitter is fine, but let her have her third AB.

It's up to Podany to secure more ABs for herself.  When she starts hitting .300 or better and driving balls to the outfield, she'll probably retain her ABs.  She was pinch-hit for the second time by Justus Perry, who drove in a run with a sac fly.  Draper, who's hitting .343, has also been pinch-hit for in situations with runners on.

Myers is a terrific coach at determining when to make these moves.  It doesn't always work (and it would be foolish to expect it to work everytime) but yesterdays game was perfect.

Exactly.  Podany still contributed as she stole a base and scored a run.   Players develop certain roles over the course of the season.  In this situation, Jenna Abbott gave us a better opportunity at the plate to get some runs in so Podany was lifted.   Like mentioned above, its been the case for Draper all season in spite of her batting average.   Great call by Coach Myers

As I've said before, Podany is our best LF option, getting her another AB when the game is already over would be helpful for future games.
