Let's see if we can spot the problem here:

Much of America fiercely believes that A) every citizen should have the right to defend their own home with deadly force, and that police should kick in the door of any residence that might have drugs inside. You know, to keep our children safe.

This means that raids occur in predawn hours, with police sometimes swarming disoriented, paranoid armed suspects who often have no idea what the **** is going on. If you're about to say that it's a miracle these people don't wind up shooting the cops in a blind panic, well, we have two stories to tell you.
