Completely agree!!!! Bruce and Butch is going to end up being (knock on wood) the best combo of any 2 Auburn coaches who coached here at the same time.

Add Gus to that and we have the trifecta of perfection!!!

So ESPN has us as a 20% chance to beat VA. Keep undervaluing this team. Has worked for us so far

I really don’t understand that.  Was Kentucky a bad team to them, or that Virginia just is vastly superior to any of the teams we have played so far?

UVA is good. Damn good. You don’t get to 30 wins in the ACC by accident.

But it’s actually not a bad matchup for us. We can’t let them dictate the pace. If we control the pace and hit our shots at an average pace, we’re in great shape.

No clue. Guess they think can do what Kansas, unc, and Kentucky couldn’t do and take us completely out of our game

FSU beat them soundly in the ACC tourney...I’m not worried.

My biggest concern is actually our ability to adjust to shooting in a dome since the sight lines and backing are so different.  Tends to affect outside shooters more than the big guys.

Don't underestimated Virginia. They are very good. This may be our toughest game, IMO.

Good thing is that it affects them too. If they wanna run down the shot clock and brick it because of the periphery/sight lines...I’ll take it.

This. I hate how we matchup with them. They implement the Ole Miss gameplan vs us to perfection night in night out. I absolutely despise them and hate their brand of basketball but their style of play is what Ole Miss used vs us to beat us twice and what UAB did when they scared us half to death in the non conference. They will slow the game to a screeching halt. It is going to be hard but we need to dictate the pace. Virginia almost always dictates the pace of play in their games.

Chills man

”He was so tired,” said his mother, Renee Okeke.

He didn’t attend the team’s breakfast Saturday at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in downtown Kansas City, Missouri. He opted instead to sleep. He later sent a text message to his teammates to let them know he would not be at the Sprint Center to witness history.

“But then when the game came on and we started watching,” Renee Okeke said. “He said, ‘Mom, I have to go down there.’”

Chuma Okeke’s brother, Chuka, booked a ride to the arena via Uber. But there was the issue of loadinga wheel-chair bound, 6-foot-9 basketball player with a major knee injury into a car. So, the family called athletic trainer Clark Pearson, who acted quickly along the sideline in the Sprint Center. He turned to a police officer sitting on Auburn’s bench near the end of the first half and made a desperate request: can you pick up the Okeke family?

At halftime, Auburn coach Bruce Pearltold the team Chuma Okeke was on his way to support his brothers. The Tigers trailed Kentucky 35-30. Auburn’s emotions skyrocketed.

What was a quick decision and plea by a family in need turned into a scene out of a movie. A full-blown police escort delivered the Okeke family through a closed road in downtown Kansas City. They parked him as close as possible to the Sprint Center entrance. Bryce Brown, who scored 24 points and hit all of his six shot attempts in the second half, was the first to greet Chuma Okekeout of the tunnel.

The cool thing about this game was that in OT harper looked like he just came out of the tunnel . Auburn looked as fresh and Kentucky looked whipped . This tells you a couple things . Leadership is there during and in the off season . Also the conditioning program delivers . The fire this team has in their belly is unreal . So proud

Right after the game I had to go to church as I work with a youth group on Sunday's.  I couldn't wait to get home and comment on this team of over achievers.as I  watched the game and was awestruck with how hard we competed. On paper Kentucky is a superior team. I honestly thought as well as we have been playing this tournament we could beat Kentucky but when Chuma went down I thought we could keep it close but we would lose as we needed Chuma's all around game to keep Kentucky honest. My brain says Virginia will beat us, but my heart believes in this bunch. I don't know how and I don't know who but this team will find a way to beat Virginia.

We are finding improbable ways of winning two blocked shots near the end of regulations to get us into overtime different players at different times doing what ever it takes. Harper in crunch time scoring all those points around the basket almost having a shot blocked and getting it to Mac to score. This is becoming a team of destiny.

The 30 for 30 on these Tigers is going to be incredible.

I haven't seen this prediction yet, but I'd guess it's just based on their bpi and this is the computer prediction based on metrics. Virginia has been #1 in most metrics for a while.

5.5 pt underdogs. Don’t get me wrong Virginia is a good team but so are we. This team has matured over the later part of the season and that blueprint doesn’t phase us near as much as before. Kansas was supposed to beat us because they’re a blue blood, UNC was supposed to run us down and out of the gym, Kentucky was supposed to be too long and too physical and be able to force us out of our game plan. None of that worked because we come together, we fight, and we over come. So bring on Virginia and bring on the final four
