Lost One of the Greats This Month

RIP Neil Peart (surprised no one had mentioned this yet). Apparently had been fighting brain cancer for the past 3 years. I was fortunate to catch every tour from Moving Pictures and on. Always looked forward to that dimming of the lights and then the ting ting.. ting ting ting

Hell of a drummer but most impressed by his writing. Didn’t know much about him or Rush until his death. I did like a lot of their stuff though..

I'm glad that he got to go out on his own terms - out of the public eye. 

Kudos to everyone around him who helped him do that.

Yup, almost exclusively wrote all the lyrics for the band. I have not read his books yet, and will do so. Always liked the fact that many times on tours he would ride his motorcycle to the next show. Also survived some very tough times with losing both his wife and daughter in the same year.
