Auburn baseball faces tough schedule in 2023 with eight games set for TV

AUBURN, Alabama—Coach Butch Thompson and the Auburn baseball Tigers open the 2023 season next Friday, February 17, when the Indiana Hoosiers come to Plainsman Park for the first of three games to open the year. It’s the beginning of a very difficult schedule for the Tigers that features an early road trip to Southern California in week two and home non-conference series against Lipscomb and NCAA Tournament team Southeastern Louisiana before SEC play begins.

Auburn opens league play with a three-game series at Arkansas on March 17-19 and will feature road trips to Florida, South Carolina, Alabama, and defending national champion Ole Miss. The Tigers will get Georgia, Texas A&M, Mississippi State, LSU and Missouri at home during the 30-game grind.

In addition, Auburn brings back Georgia Tech to the non-conference schedule, playing the Yellow Jackets at home on March 14 before traveling to Atlanta on April 11.

The schedule is going to be a challenge for us and I’m thankful for it this season,” Thompson said. “We’ll open with Indiana at home and our second weekend we go to Southern California. We added Georgia Tech back on the schedule. That’s an amazing team to get back on the schedule. Plus, those 30 SEC games. It will be a challenging schedule, but we have an opportunity with a Top 5 national schedule to pay dividends.”

Currently, Auburn has eight games scheduled for national television heading into the year with the possibility of adding more down the stretch of the campaign. Here is a list of the TV games for the Tigers heading into 2023.
