I'm disappointed the comments about the Eagle handler did not pique Golf's interest.

He is desperately searching the internet. She is great and so are the raptors. Love all the attention they can get.

Salty I should have said "the raptors and their handlers are the coolest thing ever..."

We do have the “Harvard” of Vet schools and the best Raptor Center on the planet…currently we have the hottest baseball team in the nation. Great day again.

Herbie has to sit out, Vail gets a stomach bug, Butch looks at his roster and says "no problem."   What he has done this year is nuts.

It has been a ride. Great job and coach. Saw him early this morning. Very relaxed and confident. He loves being here.

Takeaways: Auburn sweeps doubleheader over Missouri securing fifth straight SEC series victory

Andrew Stefaniak
~3 minutes

Auburn swept the twin bill against the Missouri Tigers, winning game one 4-0 and game two 7-2.

Auburn pitching was dominant in these two ball games, only allowing nine hits in two ball games to a Missouri team that has been hitting the ball well of late.

This Auburn team is on an absolute tear putting themselves in great position for post-season seeding.

What can we take away from this doubleheader sweep of Missouri?

Chase Allsup SHOVED

Take a bow, Chase Allsup! The sophomore righty flame thrower was on in game one going a career-high seven innings and striking out a career-high seven Missouri hitters. Allsup had the off-speed and heater mix working well, leading to his success in this ball game. He picked up his first win of the season after a dominant performance on the bump. Allsup has always had the stuff he just had to put it together, and just that happened in this ball game. If Allsup can continue this the rest of the season, this team will make a deep run.

Auburn hit five long balls

Auburn hit five homers over the course of these two ball games, which is a lot for a team not known for hitting a ton of bombs. Ware hit two homers, one in each game. Ike Irish hit one in game one. Cooper McMurray and Cole Foster both hit one in game two, giving the Tigers five long balls on the day. On a day where the bats didn't rack up all that many hits, five homers go a long way. Auburn would have won both games if you just counted the runs scored off homers. Good job by the offense, just doing enough on a day where they didn't put up a ton of hits and the pitchers were on fire.

Konner Copeland was outstanding

Konner Copeland went 5.1 innings, only allowing one run, and the run came after he had left the ball game. The lefty struck out five in this outing and picked up his fourth win of the season. Copeland is pitching really well, and that will help the Tigers down the stretch. The Auburn starters went 12.1 innings of one-run six-hit baseball. Standing ovations are in order for Allsup and Copeland. Watch out for the Auburn Tigers, as postseason baseball is coming up soon.

Whats next?

Auburn will go for the sweep of Missouri at 1 pm ct. This game can be found on ESPN+, and we will have all the coverage you could ever need right here at Auburn Daily.

  • WarTiger changed the title to Baseball sweeps doubleheader over Missouri

Down 2 starting pitchers this weekend is no good.   Nelson only went 2/3rds of an inning, 2 HBP, 1 walk, 1 HR, 1 balk, 2 ks.   John Armstrong in now.

Down 2 starting pitchers for the weekend.   Down all game in game 3.   In the 8th we bat around and plate 5.   This team never quits.   I think we have now won 12 of our last 15.   Butch is amazing.   Legit chance to host now.

Wow! This team rocks! Picked to finish last in the SECW, deal with significant injuries, and finishing in the upper third of the SEC!!! War Eagle 🦅

This gives us 17 conference wins. Should be good enough to host a regional but who knows? There are a lot of SEC teams with 16 or more wins this season and the NCAA isn't going to give the SEC half of the slots. Hope for the best and don't be shocked if we get short changed again.

Looks like we are pulling for UT over USCe to hopefully grab the 5th seed in the tourney, right?

Add: also looks like Vandy will be the 4

There's a lot of baseball left tonight that should interest Auburn! Anyone even remotely close to hosting is a game of interest haha

Troy beat us, our fan base cracked, and we have been lights out ever since

Lutz, it started the weekend before the Troy loss.   Coming into that series against Miss St, we had lost 3 series in a row including a sweep.   Including that State series, we won 12 of our last 15.    As you said, lights out.

Big Blue, since we won the S. Car series is it their better winning percentage that would give them the 5?
