Cohen wet the bed during his testimony today.  Could be key to Trump’s defense.

Not the first employee to wet the bed for Trump.

That's going to be a challenge for the prosecution.

Almost all their witnesses and people directly knowledgeable about Trump are going to be corrupt, lying scumbags because that's the only type of person that Donald Trump hires and associates with. They don't suddenly become fully honest people just because they turn against Trump later on.

You’ve known this for 8 years now.  It amazes me that Trump hasn’t been convicted of something in a criminal court.  Its like the left isn’t really trying.  Get with it man.

He leaves a noticeable wake.  This particular prosecution is not related to the Federal Govt in any way, regardless of the lies that the circus of those on the right keep repeating.  It is beyond preposterous to claim that Cohen is some great criminal, while not acknowledging that the crimes he committed were at the direction of  and to benefit Donald Trump.

Two things; 1, the feds wouldn’t prosecute Trump on this when given the chance.  Bragg had to dream up something to make this about a law that was broken in NY.  It didn’t work and 2, Cohen isn’t a great criminal because he has admitted to tax fraud and lying to Congress.  Now why would Bragg use him as his key witness?

Oh, the trial isn’t competed yet so we don’t know if Cohen lied to Congress at the direction and benefit of Trump.

Which is the point and the catch 22. Trumps entire world is composed of compromised personalities or direct family. Checkmate. Slimy but mob world proven.

The only way they finally got Capone after countless attempts was simple tax evasion - non subjective math.

I agree.  I have always believed that this should have been brought by the DOJ or not brought at all.  That said, you and I both know that the crimes Cohen spent time in prison for are the crimes that he committed for and at the direction of  Donald Trump.  To claim otherwise is silly.

You can make the argument that neither should be prosecuted for their actions.  I am fine with that, just don't pretend that one is not connected to the other/.

This is the same man that went around the country encouraging chants of "lock her up" directed at Hillary Clinton.  He apparently believes that karma is afraid of him.

Yes he did, however, when he got in office he didn’t follow through.

This ill-informed opinion is exactly why they thought prosecuting Trump for this nonsense is a good idea.   Even with an acquittal or a hung jury, they are counting on folks thinking like this.  The truth is Cohen was convicted for crimes Trump had absolutely nothing to do with, most notably evading millions in income tax, and lying on bank loan application forms. The DOJ gave him a sweetheart deal to also plead guilty to campaign finance violations, which was the least of his criminal offenses.  He exceeded campaign limits when he made the 130K payment that Trump re-reimbursed him for.  Ironically, that limit does not apply to Trump since it was his own campaign.  Even now after the prosecution has rested, nobody can say exactly what crimes Trump is alleged to have committed.

I will make it really simple for ya.  He pleaded guilty to two separate crimes that were committed on behalf of Donald Trump.  He was sentenced to 5 years for each of those.  Like I said in my original comment, if these charges were to be brought, the DOJ should have brought them, not the State of New York.  They would have never uncovered any of the other tax charges but for the investigation surrounding paying off women he had affairs with.

I'm fine not charging either of them, but we don't have to pretend that Trump is some innocent victim of the justice system.  He is anything but that.

Cohen was sentenced to 3 years total.  He could have gotten 30 years for bank fraud and 5 for income tax evasion, hiding more than 4 million dollars in income.  His sweetheart deal was for flipping on Trump.  Unfortunately for the DOJ, Trump himself didn't do anything illegal.  His campaign finance violations did not apply to Trump, or you can be sure they would have been charged. If you read the original post, there is a lot of detail about that. You are right about one thing though, Cohen would never have been charged with anything had the DOJ not been frantically going after everybody in Trump's orbit to try to get to Trump.

What did John Edward’s do when he was charged by the DOJ? He was found not guilty, but it is the same statute. The DOJ decided not to charge Trump, yet you all act as though Biden is somehow behind the charges.

If Trump gets back in the White House, he will appoint some puppet that will actually use the DOJ for Trumps personal agendas. We will see chaos and mass resignations as he attempts to destroy every guardrail in his way.
