The article in the link is dead on! I almost verbatim agree with him on this.

We must:

1) Frame the gas tax in the right way so as many people over 50% support it.

2) Push for the new technology ASAP.

The Immelt quote was extremely telling. GE is betting the bank on Green Technology. Immelt sees China getting ahead of us by 'skipping' a develomental step much as they did with phones, from nothing to cell phones, skipped the land line development phase.

I feel the US must be energy efficient asap. The price of oil is only going higher as more and more foplks start to drive gas cars. There is a potential market growth of over 3BN new drivers in the coming decade or so!

Couldn't agree with you more. Everytime I feel up my gas tank  , I think about changing my career goals to be match that field instead of going into what I am studying for now.

Alcohol, alcohol, alcohol. Why can't we just swap to alcohol? Top fuel dragsters use it and it's cheap to make. I know I'd run it in my car. Hell, probably even get a few more ponies out of it versus using gasoline.

Invested summer. There are many companies that are going green, Also, synthetic crude to liquid coal to diesel hybrids (Europe). PBS has a show on the other night about the EV1, electric vehicle. And, how the autmotive industry quashed it.

Don't worry about air conditioning they have a unit that operates at 320 VDC by Sanden:

I was kind wanting to apply this technology to a gas engine I have now to take the load off of the engine. It will take another alternator or special made DC generator fo auto apps in place of the present compressor. I still researching it.

This one I like:
