Ron Paul is right

I told you so. Why won't you listen?

"Why do they hate us?" Simply because America has -- often for what seemed good reasons at the time -- intervened to shape the destinies of other countries and then, as a nation, walked away.

Americans need to educate themselves, from elementary school onward, about what their country has done abroad. And they need to play a more active role in ensuring that what the United States does abroad is not merely in keeping with a foreign policy elite's sense of realpolitik but also with the American public's own sense of American values.

Because at their core, those values are sound. That is why, even in places where you'll find virulent anti-Americanism, you'll also find enormous affection for things American. That's why Pakistani rock musicians listen to Jimi Hendrix and Nirvana, why Pakistani cities are full of kids wearing blue jeans and T-shirts, and why Pakistanis have been protesting to give their supreme court the same protection from meddling by their president held by its model: the Supreme Court of the United States.

All of which leads us to another, perhaps more fruitful question that Americans ought to consider: "Why do they love us?" People abroad admire Americans not because they back foreign dictators but because they believe that all men and all women are created equal. That concept cannot stop at the borders of the United States. It is a concept far greater than any one nation, no matter how great that nation is. For America to be true to itself, its people must broaden their belief in equality to include the men and women of the world.

The challenge that the United States faces today boils down to a choice. It can insist on its primacy as a superpower, or it can accept the universality of its values. If it chooses the former, it will heighten the resentment of foreigners and increase the likelihood of visiting disaster upon distant populations -- and vice versa. If it chooses the latter, it will discover something it appears to have forgotten: that the world is full of potential allies.

Unless you wrote this, you didn't tell us anything Bottomfeeder.

Beyond that... I guess in your eyes... Let's go ahead and shut down all importing and exporting of goods. Let's shut down any internet lead that shoots US signals to other countries.

Instead of a leader and trend setter, let's take the role of world Hermit. I'm glad some love us, but on the other hand, how can we help how others that don't interpret our efforts? We can only do so much.

"Over There" is a broad blanket statement that makes it seem that everyone outside our border hates us. It's the exact reason that people like Ron Paul are considered to be complete idiots.

I mean really, I appreciate your passion, but are you really serious about this guy?

Very scary...

This is the same candidate that supports the theory that the UNITED STATES orchestrated 9/11! Do you believe that too??

;)

You obviously know nothing about the Muslim Brotherhood and our hand in bringing them to where they are today. I do believe that certain agency higher ups of the government of The United States allow 9-11 to happen. And, yes I believe it was even orchestrated by member(s) of our own government. See false flag operations on the day of 9-11.

"Pull It."

A further confirmation that Ron Paul is a crack pot.

You guys must be employed by the fed, state, county or other municipality. Because never have I witnessed such a group of more narrow-minded individuals, such as yourselves, anywhere. You defend Bush and his government's actions like they are the only correct answers to our problems. Well, they aren't. Furthermore, it is evident that you wish not to lose your precious Federal/State/Local Pensions (off the backs of taxpayers mind you) for saying anything detrimental towards US policies both here and abroad. If you are such the conservatives, then why not give up your Federal/State/Local Pension? You all know Ron Paul would end that entitlement program, that's why you hate him. And, that's why I love him.

You guys are too easy. :puke:

Oh darn..... you have uncovered our tightly held secret. What ever shall we do now ? <_<

That's right, BF. We're ALL part of the conspiracy. You found us out.

I'd watch your mail, if I were you.

You didn't watch the video, did you there asmuch???

It's exactly what I expected from someone that believes that the US attacked itself that day.

Like I said, you're an idiot.

I know I've been throwing a few names around, and that not everyone is a fan of name calling, but when it applies...it applies. It's hard to actually take it further and debate it out with someone like yourself, because it's already been plainly laid out in front of us that you wouldn't listen anyway. So, no debating from me about your ignorant subject matter.

For every ONE point you asshooligans THINK you make in your fantasy explanation of 9/11, there are 50 proven facts, witnesses and scientifically proven studies to back up the simple, but awful truth.

You coming on here and spending all your time on a football board to camp out in the political section is in itself a little sad. There are "forums" for what you preach, I just don't believe it's here.

You won't change my mind, and I don't think it's a far stretch to believe that you won't change other people's minds either with your sharp insults and calling us names as well.

I mean.... asmuch? I guess I'm missing something on that one. Don't really care though.

Good luck with your master "debating"....

(cheap laugh for a cheap subject....)

 Bottom Feeder,

Once again you cause me to boil over with this liberal based video of corruption and innuendo. There's nothing you can do to dispell the FACT that Osama and his group facilitated 911. To create a version other than that is disruptive and down right misleading to those who can't see the forest for the trees. There's overwhelming evidence that OBL and Al Queda created 911, and to suggest or even believe that the U.S. government did this is ridiculous. History, even during the Clinton years, proved that OBL had the intention for years to attack the U.S. Let's get off the far left agenda and come back to reality.

As for Ron Paul, he has some good points, and he has some bad points. He knows he has no shot, but at least he has the guts to continue his message. I am not a follower of his ideas, but he brings in another perspective, and in the end that is what America is all about.

I don't care if they love us. I don't care if they hate us.

What I care about is whether they respect us. That's the only thing that matters.

(Elisabeth Hasselbeck  once took this position in an argument with Rosie. And she was right.)
