to today's issue of the Birmingham News. (Ian Rapoport) Shouldn't we be doing this as well to keep up with facilities and impressing recruits?

No. If you can't consistently fill what you have, I would suggest upgrading what you've already got.

As for us, this isn't BS. Expect an announcement in the very near future.

Expanding JHS is always a topic of discussion, but I really think that is not a priority right now. We don't sell out all of our home games every year, and nothing looks worse than empty seats. Why spend money to have more empty seats? I think the athletic construction budget has all it can handle with the new basketball arena.

Bama can do whatever they want to BDS. Just means more people will see us when we continue beating them in Tuscaloosa. We don't need to "chase" them in some kind of stadium pissing contest.

It will be a pathetic showing of empty seats once Saban mania wears off. I don't know how many payday loans you can get off of a 1979 doublewide, so there has to be a limit on how many tickets they can sell.

Like the UL-Monroe and Vandy sellouts of the Shula era?

I don't live in a doublewide, by the way.

Aim high. Maybe someday you can move out of your singlewide. B)

I'm not one to get into a pissing match. How's that jumbotron working out for you, Bama? Kinda grainy?

But yeah, I think it's silly to debate over materialistic things. Have any of you Bama fans had the luxury of touring the Heisman Room in Jordan-Hare? It's really nice. What is Bama's Heisman Room like...oh wait...yeah...sorry about that.

Anybody who is going to gloat about their facilities is just worried about the size of his own manland. Bama sucks.

With UAT's most recent infractions and penalties from the NCAA to include the loss of 15 football scholarships; UAT supposedly barely escaped the 'death' penalty. It is unthinkable to imagine BDS setting empty with no football for any number of years. I just can't fathom the NCAA growing the 'pair' that it would take to 'kill' a football program that has a huge stadium and the facilities that go along with the football program. For example; what would UT do with Neyland Stadium if the football team vanished? Without football, the Title 9 sports would dry up and blow away too. Women's soccer would field a team, but they would not be competitive. There is no way the NCAA could kill UAT's football team knowing that the collaterial damage would include the funding for every sport at UAT.

So, with the loss of 15 scholarship's the past four years, UAT was basically a glorified D1AA program playing in a huge stadium. (D1 teams have 85 scholarships, D1AA's 65, D2's have 35). The NCAA couldn't take 20 scholy's from UAT; then they really would be on the D1AA level.

So the question is: What will be the NCAA's decision on UAT next time? We all know there will be a 'next time'; it is coming with Tricky Nick at the wheel. What will the NCAA infractions committee say? They might say, "Heck, we can't kill the UAT football team without killing women's soccer. Forget 15 scholarships and leaving some kind of parity to other D1 programs; we are taking 30 scholarships." That would leave UAT with 50 scholarships; which make them slightly more competitive then a D2 team, but not on par with D1AA teams.

So, basically BDS is being expanded for the Alabama A&M/UAT matchup in 2012.

Mark my words, it could happen.

And 2 is still 2 more than you can claim. Or is bammer considering "claiming" some from before the Heisman was created? Maybe you have 12 of those too? :gofig:

You do know he coached at Auburn right?

We can't have a room, but you can have a museum, 15 streets, elementary, high schools, restaurants, and everything else imaginable to honor one of your coaches?

Actually...well...the room's got nothing to do with John Heisman.

But other than that, great point.

Well, neither trophy resides in the room. Pat Sullivan's is in the Introductory Room of the Lovelace Athletic Museum and Bo's is across from the entrance at Rane Reception Room.

The answer in both cases is simple....tractor pulls

Wasn't trying to claim any Heismans, nor trying to say anthing about Auburn fans honoring your former coach.

The initial post asked about our Heisman room, and then....oh wait...yeah..sorry about that. So I was just asking about the room. If the trophys are not kept there, why didn't you just describe the room since it was stated to be so nice.

Yeah, I'm sure that's exactly what you were doing. No sarcasm or insinuations, right?

It's a room near the players' lockerroom that has a few ridiculously nice leather couches. There's a 40(ish) inch flatscreen TV. One wall is decorated with Bo Jackson stuff (jersey, portrait), the other Pat Sullivan. There's also a luxury bathroom that is more for looks than anything else. People can tour it, but nobody is allowed to stay in it for a long period of time.
