Not sure if anyone on here has heard or is interested, but there is an interesting feud brewing between some of the sports writers and the UT althletics here in Knoxville. John Adams, whose columns I really enjoy, wrote a piece on Tuesday calling for Fulmer's job. Since then there has been a backlash against the nonconformist Adams by many in the UT fanbase. Today I received, through my UT email account, a response from athletic dirctor Mike Hamilton, chastising Adams and supporting ole Phil. The Great Pumpkin also wrote a guest columnist retort to the original Adams article. I will post the two articles for your enjoyment.

UT has surpassed Miami as the poster team for bad behavior in college football. It’s the college equivalent of the Cincinnati Bengals.

And when some of the bad Vols leave, they move on to bigger and badder things, carrying their UT affiliation right along with them.

In the last 10 years, two former prominent UT football players have killed people. How sobering is that?

Sounds like Phil treats his players like Shula did. When you top Miami and have 2 killers as post players, does it really speak of how they are mentored at UT or is it just there background that is instilled in them. I have no idea, but I do think that these articles do bring some light on the light sentences these players got. 5 alcohol related brushes with the law is just unexcusable.
