That talk started about the Auburn basketball coach when VCU athletics director Norwood Teague said last week that Lebo was on his initial list of candidates to replace Anthony Grant, who went to Alabama. Teague never asked Auburn for permission to speak to Lebo. There was never likely much to it. Teague and Lebo know each other from their days as students at North Carolina in the 1980s.
