Some Interesting Recruiting Developments

According to http://auburnbybeaver.blogspot.com/:

It seems that Demond Washington ended up three hours short of being able to transfer to Auburn for summer classes but is taking an English class online. He should be in Auburn by July. Also, the final date for the ACT test is June 13. Signees Izauea Lanier and LaVoyd James need to raise their scores as of now. Also, Brandon Jacobs is expected to be drafted in the MLB draft and will decide between that and Auburn football.

I really would like to see Brandon Jacobs on the Plains. You gotta love big fast RBs. I dont know how big of a loss James and Lanier would be. I like Demond Washington better as a CB but perhaps he can find a spot at RB or PR. If he happen to lose 3 of the 4 at least it will open up some spots for other more recruits at key positions.

Graduation and normal attrition will open up plenty of spots for next year. We need all hands on deck THIS August! Here's hoping we don't lose any of them.

With everyone from this incoming class, we have 85 scholarship players which is the max. Graduation will only open up about 12 spots. That's still 13 short of the 25 recruit limit per year.

August of 2010 is when the counting will be done on next year's class. Year after year there are injuries, defections and so forth that reduce the numbers. If history is any indication there won't be a problem,
