How did AU's offense get so explosive?

It might be the coaching but how do you explain the arsenal of our guys belting the ball so soundly against every opponent? We are averaging 9.4 runs (527 runs total) and 12.9 (724 hits total) hits a game, which is ridiculous! Got to love our coach's hitting philosophy and hope we win the SEC!!

malzhan is moonlighting as a hitting coach.  I keep hearing rumors of us losing him to the braves.

Two reasons why we are so explosive.

1) Players. He didn't do a good job overall, but Coach Tim Slater did recruit some first class sluggers. This is the final year at Auburn for most of the big hitters, but they are awesome.

2) Coaching. The above mentioned players were good before, but in the off season we got a new hitting coach and the results are obviously great.

I do hope the current staff can re-load in the big stick department. We will probably never again see a lineup as great as this year's, but a reasonable reloading of hitters and improved pitching should keep us in contention every year from here on out.
