Chris Cuomo is a free man.

After spending weeks quarantined in his basement fighting the coronavirus, the journalist has reunited with his family. Cuomo, who continued broadcasting his nightly CNN show despite the illness, documented the moment in a must-see video shared to his Instagram on Monday.

"The official reentry from the basement," Cuomo said as he walked up the stairs into their living room, noting that he'd been "cleared" by the CDC. "This is what I've been dreaming of. Literally for weeks."

The 49-year-old revealed his wife, Cristina Cuomo, had also been given the green light to come out of isolation after she too tested positive for the coronavirus.

"My wife was cleared by the CDC. She doesn't have a fever, she doesn't have the symptoms anymore and [it's been] more than seven days in her quarantine," he said.

"We're still a little scared so I'll just give you one of these," Cuomo said, giving Cristina and his three kids, Bella, Mario and Carolina, the shaka sign.

"This is the dream," he continued, "just to be back up here doing normal things."

The proud dad then expressed gratitude to his children for stepping up as their parents recovered.

"Thank you for being so nice to me. Thank you for taking care of everything you had to. Thank you for taking care of me. Bella, thank you for stepping up and now adding family videographer to your resume. She's rolling her eyes," he said.

Cuomo also shared a new photo alongside daughter Carolina, captioning it, "First smile in a long while."

Throughout his own health crisis, Cuomo had the support of his brother, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo. On Wednesday, April 15, the governor appeared on "Cuomo Primetime" to discuss Cristina's diagnosis.

"You're going to be getting better soon, because you have to be getting to the tail end of this thing," he told his brother. "So you'll be up and you'll be strong. When all is said and done, I don't think this is a bad experience for [your kids] to go through. You want to talk about growing up a little bit and seeing reality a little bit? Bella will step up so it's all going to be fine. I know it makes a bad situation worse, but it's all going to be fine."

Chris (Fredo), the dumber of the Cuomo brothers, is such a putz.

You don’t here this on CNN.  Chris doesn’t know the meaning of quarantine.

Meanwhile Andrew, the dumb of the dumb and dumber, mandates nursing homes to take *stable* corvid-19 patients.

The first coronavirus patients admitted to a Queens nursing home under a controversial state mandate arrived along with some grim accessories — a supply of body bags, The Post has learned.

An executive at the facility — which was previously free of the deadly disease — said the bags were in the shipment of personal protective equipment received the same day the home was forced to begin treating two people discharged from hospitals with COVID-19.

“My colleague noticed that one of the boxes was extremely heavy. Curious as to what could possibly be making that particular box so much heavier than the rest, he opened it,” the exec told The Post Thursday.

“The first two coronavirus patients were accompanied by five body bags.”

Within days, three of the bags were filled with the first of 30 residents who would die there after Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s Health Department handed down its March 25 directive that bars nursing homes from refusing to admit “medically stable” coronavirus patients, the exec said.

Like clockwork, the nursing home has received five body bags a week — every week — from city officials.

I wonder why the NYTimes are sitting on this story?

On March 25, New York’s Health Department issued a mandate that state nursing homes could not refuse COVID-19-positive patients who were “medically stable,” meaning facilities that housed the most vulnerable populations were forced to introduce the virus into their midst.  This is about the time Cuomo was panicking about everything COVID-19 from ventilators to hospital beds.  One wonders is he got a little over zealous about his hospital capacity and forced these nursing homes into an untenable situation.

I wonder what he was thinking?  How else could this turn out?  Probably like letting criminals out of jail and commercial theft increasing by over 75%.

New York needs new management.

As long as he went in separate cars, I don’t see a problem with him getting out and checking his home construction. Sounds like he didn’t like being questioned about it.

He had CORVID-19, he advised everybody that heard him on his TV show to stay at home to save other people, he was contagious.  What was he thinking?  He couldn’t wait a week or so to see the construction?  Just seems a little hypocritical to be out and about when you have CORVID-19 and telling others to stay at home that don’t have CORVID-19.  Rules don’t apply to him.

I would agree if he went through the McDonald’s drive through or Walmart or anywhere else. But like I said IF he was in a separate vehicle and went to a construction site it’s no different than staying home. Staying at home is meant to protect others. It’s not a sentence for punishment. The guy squealing On him didn’t mention hour many vehicles were used.

Ok, agree to disagree.

The only thing I saw anywhere mentioned him and his family drove together, but who knows if it accurate. We do know his wife tested positive 4 or 5 days after the trip. His son tested positive a few days ago.

I assume that he probably has felt fine for a while and didn't think much of it. I mean it probably takes a while for the CDC itself to personally clear you given all they have on their plate.

I think a person that isolates at home would be outside the protocol of the CDC and it would be up to him to get tested, or in this case CNN would require it before he goes back to work. This is where personal integrity comes in.

I haven’t seen anything else that says that they drove together or separate. That’s just the only way I can see that he did anything wrong. According to trump that sunlight might have cured him.

Putting myself in that situation, if I felt up to it I’m getting out of the damn house. I wouldn’t endanger another person but checking out a construction site or going fishing or just a walk can do the mind and body well.

So he wasn't in the basement the entire time? I thought the clip of him walking up the stairs out of the basement was him for the first time coming out of the basement.

He obviously had to go back to the hospital or somewhere for testing
