  1. Yep -- it's called Back to the Drawing Board, usually preceded by an audible "Damn, my assumptions were wrong."
  2. Nice. This is the type of DL that on a 4th & 1 inside the 50 the other team takes a TO to talk over if they really want to go for it or punt it away.
  3. Hayell NO we don't like Pawwl. In order for AU to be competitive in the SEC, the recruiting effort needs to be top notch & continuous -- something that was missing from the last 2 HCs. All y'all can argue which was "worse" but it doesn't really matter today. Freeze appears to be different and maybe that's what Finebaum is picking up on. I want AU to be competitive at home & also on the road in Athens, Tuscalooser & everywhere else. Next year will tell if Freeze is on the right track.
  4. First contact was a legal block during the return, and it happened to knock the player to the ground (probably because he wasn’t paying attention & relaxed thinking the play was over.). Next contact was just laying on top preventing the punter from getting up & being part of the rest of the play. I see that a lot from OL laying on top of DL after they’re on the ground. Nothing illegal as far as I can tell, just a costly lesson being learned — you play to the end of the whistle.
  5. Spatchcock & dry-brine is the way to go -- have done that the past two Thanksgivings. Also, I tried a heritage turkey and must admit it's the best I've tasted. An 8-lb bird cooked in 90 minutes. It's more expensive but IMHO it's worth the extra cost. Heritage turkeys
  6. One more reason to drink up: It's science! Abstract Background To date, most countries lifted the restriction requirement and coexisted with SARS-CoV-2. Thus, dietary behavior for preventing SARS-CoV-2 infection becomes an interesting issue on a daily basis. Coffee consumption is connected with reduced COVID-19 risk and correlated to COVID-19 severity. However, the mechanisms of coffee for the reduction of COVID-19 risk are still unclear. Results Here, we identified that coffee can inhibit multiple variants of the SARS-CoV-2 infection by restraining the binding of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein to human angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2), and reducing transmembrane serine protease 2 (TMPRSS2) and cathepsin L (CTSL) activity. Then, we used the method of "Here" (HRMS-exploring-recombination-examining) and found that isochlorogenic acid A, B, and C of coffee ingredients showed their potential to inhibit SARS-CoV-2 infection (inhibitory efficiency 43–54%). In addition, decaffeinated coffee still preserves inhibitory activity against SARS-CoV-2. Finally, in a human trial of 64 subjects, we identified that coffee consumption (approximately 1–2 cups/day) is sufficient to inhibit infection of multiple variants of SARS-CoV-2 entry, suggesting coffee could be a dietary strategy to prevent SARS-CoV2 infection. Conclusions This study verified moderate coffee consumption, including decaffeination, can provide a new guideline for the prevention of SARS-CoV-2. Based on the results, we also suggest a coffee-drinking plan for people to prevent infection in the post-COVID-19 era.
  7. I like that -- keep plowing ahead. Don't let a little temporary storm keep you from moving forward.
  8. Just saw this thread so I'm a little late to the party. For #7 -- I don't believe you can be a walk-on to the water polo team unless your name is Jesus. You'd have to be a swim on ... I'm here all week. Be sure to tip your waitress.
  9. A lot of venting going on ... not sure it's warranted because NMSU looked pretty good today. I will say that Freeze's focus on recruiting now is absolutely what's needed if AU is going to compete in the SEC in the future. AU's recruiting was in bad shape at the end of Malzahn's tenure, and Harsin's lack of recruiting for 2 more years put AU in an even bigger deficit. Freeze recognizes it too because he's said he'll he gone if the situation isn't reversed in about 3 years. Emergency situation, triage, however you want to characterize it -- AU needs a massive upgrade in quality & quantity of recruits.
  10. Yes. Did you watch the game? It was pretty obvious that AU needs better linemen on both sides of the ball. AU got whipped there today.
  11. After reading this article about how stubborn & stupid Jimbo was, I think whomever the next coach is will do just fine at TAMU.
  12. The near-sighted moron who orchestrated Malzahn's extension in 2017 should be banned from AU football for life!
  13. NMSU leading passer & rusher is their QB, Diego Pavia. Control/contain him and you control the game. Another challenge for the defense(!)
  14. Well, this may partially explain why they were on their 3rd string QB after all the "injuries."
  15. War Eagle. Hope you have a fantastic time at the Iron Bowl.
