O Line technical question?

I couldn't watch the game so I'm pouring over any highlights I can find.  Here is my question:

On the second play in the auburntigers.com highlight clip, the entire Oline stays frozen until Trotter gets the screen off to Omac, then they release and the entire Oline is leading Omac down field blocking.  Does anyone know how the line times the release?  Is it just counting in their heads or is there a visual trigger?

They run the play to freeze the defense and hope to pick major yardage. The idea is to make the defense believe a flag has been thrown and the play is dead. The offense moves based on the defensive movement.
