sagarin is a moron

I understand tha tthe citadel sucks and that like krypton, just being around them can make your team into a weak, stumbling mess...but sagarin has serious problems with his methodology for computing strength of schedule he uses simple averages of ranks to compute strength of schedule thus wyoming's schedule(ranked 61) of is considered by sagarin to be more challenging than auburn's schedule (ranked 74)....this is insane!!!

the other computers have similar problems in methodology...an exception is billingsly who has one of the six computer polls in the bcs...and he ranks auburn #2...

the idiocy of their strength of schedule methodology should be exposed by the media....we all agree that SOS is important but you can't compute like an idiot, if it is going to be such a big factor you have to see who faced more tougher teams top 20 top 30 etc....

You are right about Sagarin. I was looking at his ratings today, after Saturday's games, and based on his formula Michigan would beat Ohio State and Florida State would beat Florida (after the data from those games are in).

Here is the strength of schedule rankings from pac-10 and SEC from an AU mailing list-

Oregon State -- 1

Arizona State -- 2

Stanford -- 5

Arizona -- 6

Washington -- 7

USC -- 9

Cal -- 12

Oregon -- 13

Washington State -- 14

UCLA -- 21

Arkansas -- 24

Ole Miss - 29

Georgia -- 36

Tennessee -- 39

Kentucky -- 41

LSU -- 47

South Carolina -- 48

Miss State -- 59

Vanderbile -- 60

Florida -- 63

Alabama -- 70

Auburn -- 74

gabe....after looking at that a little closer from your post I must reach the following conclusion....

Sagarin is a MORON!!!!!!

That is truly moronic...I wonder if he has actually looked at how his SOS has really worked out and then asked himself...Is this correct? Obviously not!

Look at Anderson's obvious bias for USC and OU and against AU. He shows our 3 ranked opponent wins against non top 10 teams, but we all know LSU, UT, and UGA were in the top 10 in AP and ESPN polls at the time we wrapped on those heads!!! All of the sudden, USC and OU teams have moved up the polls. Looking at the post everyone has put up, it is obvious there is problem when Utah St, and Wyoming have stronger strengths of schedules than us playing an SEC schedule regardless of the non-conference games. I wish someone would get a clue. Start sending some emails to these guys!!!!!!!!!

Did you run the numbers to see if he took ALL the opponents and averaged them what they come out to be instead of just those he chose to select? I'd be curious to see the total package averaged out.
