Afghan Involvement & Civilian Casualties

We are asking them to not turn hospitals into parking lots for one. Like Mims said, the rest of that stuff is pretty much normal. There have been huge gaps between policy and implementation leaving soldiers feeling like their hands are tied and their mission not as clear when reality strikes and TRADOC goes out the window.

What the hell are we asking these men to do?

That is my point. This is too normal. The gaps you reference increase the odds of turning a hospital into a parking lot when TRADOC is abandoned. It happens with the Marines on the ground as well. We put these troops in positions that promote failure.

That is the result of political BS for ya.

Can't blame it on left or right, they both eff around and make s*** annoyingly undefined for the armed forces.

The current administration is wasting time and american lives staying there just so it will not take blame for the collapse of the Afghan government and return of the full Taliban control. Then no one will care of hear about the deaths caused by the Taliban.

An inevitable result of "nation building".

Exactly. I know this is a political forum and it promotes the right and left attacking each other but the point was that our military personnel on the front line or left with making immediate decisions in the heat of the battle without support. The support should be on the front end first and even stronger on the follow up.
