Game off to a more normal start....but in the top of 2nd OSU starts off with back to back sharp singles to left …..they just don't hit soft hits....and meanwhile the MSU pitcher balks to move the runners along a base each and now both are in scoring position with no out.

Well…...guess we should have seen this coming. ….full count on next hitter....but a pop fly to short left does not advance the runner from third....but looks like the ump has a pretty small strike zone tonight which is gonna help OSU.....their guys are going to see a lot of hittable pitches at this rate.

MSU pitcher comes back with a great little back door breaking ball that freezes the batter who watched it go by and headed back to the dugout. 

So two outs and runners still on 2nd and 3rd.....see if Smalls can get out of this mess...'and he does with another pop fly to short left...right.....Great job to escape without a run scoring...

Well, a shoulder high curve is called a strike on MSU's first batter....ump still trying to figure out what his strike zone is going to be.....kind of all over the place right now....

MSU will be facing wave after wave of OSU hitters.  Going to be tough if MSU doesn’t score a bunch.

OMG...called out on a chest high pitch......for a championship level event this umpire is really gonna have the pitchers and batters wondering where the zone is.

MSU up and down in order....score still 0-0 and OSU comes to the plate in top of 3rd...

PAC 12 ump behind the plate.  Shouldn't be allowed.

Should have been pretty easy to get a few good umps from the Big 10 or a non-participating league....

Meanwhile....OSU keeps the pressure on and now has couple runners on base...some questionable defense by the maroons but two outs ...and I would not pitch to the next guy coming up...the OSU catcher......

First pitch and the catcher rips it back up the middle to drive in the first run of the game....

Beavers tagging the MSU pitcher....five hits now after doing no damage earlier.....3 hits after two outs this inning.

OSU scores first on a couple of base hits and an E4(?).  They are tagging Small pretty good.

Another hit and another run comes in ….time for MSU to take a look at another pitcher.....they have Smalls dialed in now....four hits after 2 outs...

Don't know what Henderson was thinking to leave Smalls in there....home run to dead center clears the bases and beavers are up 5-0  MSU should be in good shape with pitching but went waaaaay too long with Smalls.    \

Those last three runs are on the coach

Finally....the inning is over......and OSU looks to be in control at this point.

3 run blast.  Small should have been pulled two batters before.  I don't know if MSU can overcome this.

MSU gets a couple hits and is able to bring in a run to make it 5-1

And Smalls is back out on the mound to start the 4th......lot of game yet to play.

Gets the OSU three up and three down pretty quickly so MSU is back to the plate....bottom of 4th.

JMO but has helped OSU.....forcing pitchers to put the ball down the middle to get a strike call....but anyway....MSU now has a new pitcher in the top of the 5h ….runner on first with 2 outs which is about where OSU breaks loose.....

But nice sharp breaking curve catches the batter looking and MSU is out of he inning with no damage..

Probably so, but this team that barely made the SEC Tournament has done some amazing things in post season.  I'm not counting them out yet.

Major screw up by MSU....single to left with runner on first......batter tried to stretch it to a double and was thrown out for the 3 rd out of the inning.....and left a base runner on 3rd.   UGH.....

Se we are still at 5-1....

Magnum gets a base hit and makes a dumb decision trying to stretch it into a double.

WOW…..OSU 3rd base in the right spot....hard hit liner....caught it and quick throw to 2nd to double off the runner and the inning is over.....real chance to get back in the game.....but heads up defense by beavers...
