Wonder if Godwin is still favoring the hand she hurt on Saturday's game cause she's still in as the DP. McCondichie is playing 2B with Blaine in the outfield today. Lets hope this is a better defensive lineup. 1-2-3 inning for Penta as she strikes out 1 and then a nice play from McCondichie for out 3. Happy to see those balls drop in play for her. Smith comes into run and immediately steals second. Then advances to third on a wild throw! Packer advances to third and is safe after an obstruction is called on the 2B as she rounded 2nd. Would have been out if it wasn't for the obstruction. A meeting of the umps but the call stands. Blaine pops up for out 2. Garcia with a bunt but is called out after she makes contact with the ball out of the batters box. Also, Garcia and Blaine keep changing position (RF/LF) depending on who is batting and if it's a left handed slapper at the plate. Foul out for out 3. 12 up, 12 down so far. Hard hit single back to Dismukes and it richochets off her glove into LF. Runners on the corner with 0 outs. Dean coming out to talk to her. Geraghty comes in at LF and Blaine moves to dp. High chopper to Peralta and she comes home with it to get the lead out and keep the shut out. Lisenby throw to 1st not in time and Ellis tries to go to third to get the runner there but no go. 3 pitch STRIKEOUT! Defense lets us down again. McCondichie with an unneeded sliding attempt. Edit: Forgot to put that it was an error on her. 2 runs score. Next batter grounds out. Cox hitting for Roach. She falls behind 0-2, fouls a few off, and then gets it to 3-2 before a single! Lisenby goes to 3rd! That was a great disciplined at bat from Cox. Schmidt hitting for McCondichie. Flies out to shallow right. Not deep enough to get Lisenby home. McNemar hitting for Packer. She fouls out.
