Instead, the Lincoln, Nebraska native allegedly flew from Oxford, Mississippi to his hometown on October 16.

Probably wanted a good steak and to visit an old friend or two. He didn't go there to discuss taking the Nebraska coaching job, you can bet the farm on that.

Yeah, and Nebraska is super fun. Lots of hot ladies there for him too.

/sarcasm.

Lincoln is a great college town on gameday but not so good on eye candy is true. Use to work there

What's silly about it? He has extracted most of the juice that can be squeezed from ole miss. The sec west is not a fun league to coach in.

I disagree and am not sure why anyone would think he'd go to Nebraska who will never be competitive again.  It's harder to recruit to Nebraska than it is to any SEC school outside of Vandy.

He's having a ball at OM.  Ranked in the top 10 currently, undefeated and will surely log another 10 win season, getting paid very well.

Also, guys aren't taking easily trackable planes to "interview for jobs" anymore LMAO. This is archaic logic, the fact that people still think you're going to find out where a coach is going based off flight data is really cute.

Side note, all jet flights are still "easily trackable" - just because FlightAware lets owners hide their aircraft on that platform doesn't make the data any less public domain, hell even Elon Musk can't hide his flights and it drives him nuts. But yes, seeing a flight from airport A to airport B means absolutely zilch about who's on board though.

nebraska absolutely could be competitive again. Whats the difference between, utah or oklahoma or oklahoma state and nebraska? This isnt north or south dakota, montana or new hampshire. Nebraska, Auburn, Wisconsin are all similar programs tbh w auburn having greater access to talent but all three are not that different in ebbs and flows of competiveness. Hell kansas is competitive now and would probably beat auburn

Agreed. I lived there in the Omaha area for several years and their tradition and fan base is as strong as any team in the nation, still. They can load up on linemen from the Midwest, and get plenty of skill players from Cali/Florida/Louisiana like they used to if they get the right coach. They are also loaded with money from the Buffet crew and NIL could be big for them.

He might.  But he also could be 7-5 at the end of the year

Kiffin's team came outta the gates hot today and went up 17 - 3. After that, LSU outscored them 42 - 3 and 28 - 0 in the 2nd half. Ole Miss defense is struggling to keep opponents out of the endzone. Like the analysts said during the game, Kiffin knows his offense will have to score 40 or more every week because his defense can't stop anybody.

When I win the lottery I’m buying a run out, old crappy single engine Cessna and flying it between schools who have a hot coach and a coaching vacancy or who are underperforming….
