No one wants this guy but us. We've been rumored to be interested in him since Harsin was supposedly going to be fired early in the year. We get clowned by Kiffin, allow a beat writer guess circus to make us further look like fools without comment and now we hire a guy we literally could have hired the second we fired Harsin. We're about to be an even bigger joke in college football than we already are. All the good will we've garnered with Carnell's stint will vanish into laughter that Auburn actually hired a guy no other program besides Liberty would touch. WE FIRED GUS MALZAHN TO HIRE A LESSER VERSION. This is going to be the most unpopular hire Auburn football has made in the modern era and after we turn in another 5-6 win season next year, get ready for the media circus to repeat. Unreal. The best players do not come to schools that run gimmicky "catch 'em out of position" do more with less offenses. Gus was missing a top level QB most years because top QBs don't go to schools that run Sunbelt offense. Project athletes and undersized receivers go to those schools. QBs that could outrun everyone their low-A high schools played go to those schools. Alabama, Georgia, LSU and other teams with professional offenses get the top athletes. Gus got what was left.
