I have been a Season Ticket holder for twenty consecutive years. I just got my tickets YESTERDAY. The more things change, the more they stay the same. :au:

I read the times this morning and did not see anything in it that would have suggested they are changing. Where did you read that?

I heard last year from Tigers Unlimited that they are going to change the way they do ticket priority. Instead of looking at how many years you have been giving, and how much you have given total. They are going to look at how much you gave that year.

If this is what they do, you are going to have many Auburn fans upset.

I guess my dad saw it too. It was just a line that said that there will be an article tomorrow about changing ticket priority, and that some people won't like it. Anyone else have any insider info?

Yes, it was just a teaser on the front page saying there would be more on Friday.

WT, I have been buying season books for many years also. I got screwed once before by the ticket system so I am always suspicious when they start tinkering.

I just recieved an e-mail about the tickets priority for next year.

You may have already heard that the Tigers Unlimited football (TUF) season

ticket priority plan will be revised beginning in 2006. I want to take this

opportunity to explain why we need to make these changes and to explain how the

new program will work.

The TUF program is being revised for two reasons: to allow us to better serve

our fans and student-athletes; and to ensure that Auburn can remain competitive

within the Southeastern Conference and nationally.

When you come to Jordan-Hare Stadium this season, you will see concrete evidence

of your investment in Auburn. The concourse areas on the north and south ends

of the stadium have been upgraded, with new restrooms, concession stands,

concourses and other fan-friendly amenities. By the opening game of 2006, our

two-year renovation of the stadium will be completed. With the already complete

Tiger Walk Plaza and renovated locker rooms, Jordan-Hare will be a

state-of-the-art facility, one of the finest on-campus venues in the country.

The game-day experience for our fans will be second to none. But for that

game-day experience to be best, the Tigers must remain competitive. As you

know, Auburn has won or tied for the SEC Western Division in four of the last

five years. The Auburn football team is ranked fourth nationally in the

Student-Athlete Performance Rate, a new national academic study developed to

determine top teams combining results on the playing field and in the classroom.

To continue at that level, we must support our student-athletes and coaches with

resources of top quality academic support and training facilities.

It is no coincidence that the teams with whom we compete most directly for SEC

Championships - Georgia, Tennessee, LSU and Florida - have the four largest

athletics operating budgets in the conference. Even with increased funds from

ticket priorities and other sources, our budget will not match those. However,

this program will allow our teams to compete on a relatively level playing

field.

How the new program works:

We studied more than 25 other programs from comparable universities to design

the best and fairest model for our fans. The new TUF priority program will be

similar to those in most sports and entertainment venues today with seats

priority priced, which means the amount of the priority donation is based on the

location of the seats. Most seats in the lower level between the 30 yard lines

will carry a $400 per season ticket priority donation. The next level of seats

will carry a $300 per season ticket priority and other season tickets will carry

a $200 per ticket priority.

The new priority ticket program will continue to reward your loyalty to Auburn.

No one will lose their seat location as long as they continue to participate in

the priority donation level for those seats. As long as the priority donation

is maintained, seat locations will remain the same for our TUF members.

For more details on the new TUF priority ticket program, go to

www.auburntigers.com and click on the Tigers Unlimited link at the top of the

page. You will find a list of questions and answers about the new program along

with a Jordan-Hare Stadium diagram that shows each of the priority donation

sections.

I just got my email from Tim Jackson too and am not happy about it at all.

Yeah they really "rewarded" us loyal fans :moon:

I guess we need to write Lowder a letter. Surely it's his fault since he runs everything :big:

I guess I am just confused about why this is needed, it seems our football program isn't hurting. I am also upset that it is so much more expensive.

I do understand that $$$$ is required to keep AU at the TOP. I also understand that I have just finished paying for one child's AU education and have another that is a Soph. this year. Believe me, I send PLENTY of $$$ to AU.

I guess this just boils down to the simple fact that folks are never gonna' be happy with a price increase....ever. Include me in that group. But, I will pay the price and grumble. What else is there to do? :au:

I agree with your statement, but I guess I just don't see us hurting for money. I guess that's where the confusion is for me. :gofig:
