A testament to religion.  The rejection of God.

I am not rejecting God! In the end I might be wrong but if you are wrong, you are in a world of hurt...............

This feels like yet another thread that does a much better job at identifying who’s wrong and to blame than having any solutions on how to solve it. 2 state? Nuke em all? Continue tit for tat …forever?

I don't believe a true solution exists.  That being the case, peace won't be as much the goal as security.

SO, Continue tit for tat …forever? Is your solution then? Perpetual death, rape, torture, murder, and kidnapping?

That's the best you got?

Islamic extremists want what they cannot have.  They want Israel wiped from existence.  They also want to enforce their belief system and destroy much of modern society.  The choices are to either eradicate them or isolate them.  The better choice is to isolate them and work toward a day where there is more of a desire to maintain peace.

So we can house them in your backyard?

Agreed. Difficult for humans to remedy. Neither side will accept the authority of anybody but God. This is the way I have viewed the Middle East for years. God alone will ultimately sort this out. How much should we try to help? I have no idea. He will do it in His timing.

Yep.

Right after He solves that global warming problem for us. ;)

These people lived together in peace before WWI.

Peace is attainable if/when,,, the U.S. promotes peace.

Ummm. True but after the formation of Israel the Jewish immigrants/ population exploded into the area from Europe and Northern Africa. 2 million in 5 years. To make matters more difficult, the European Jews (which quickly rose to power due to education) had just gone through the holocaust and brought in a highly traumatized mindset. There was a war less than 6 months after  the creation of Israel.

It’s much more difficult than just the US promoting peace.

New poll shows that 20% of Democrats support Hamas over Israel. I am very surprised that it is that low.

I can’t get the link to post from my phone.

So, what's your suggestion?  "Kill them all"?

That would be a good start.

It may be very simplistic view but those marching for Hamas are just like those that march for the KKK.

Support for one Race/religion hating group is support for all.

We will never kill them all, but crushing them to the point that they all but cease to exist is the very thing that has worked in the past. See National Socialism.

The crushing them is a start, but after that the youth must be educated in more of a moderate view of Islam.  Otherwise, the hate will still be there.  I’m not sure what you can do with the current *Hitler* youth that are already exposed to hate.

Unless the God/Religion you believe in isn't the true or correct one. Then you'll just end up going to the 'correct' religions version of hell along with all the atheist.

This also includes you being in the correct Christian denomination also. Many different Churches interpret the Bible differently on what it says you have to do to be saved and on what actions are considered sins, and if one of the many stricter/Conservative Churches  are correct and you are in another denomination, you may end up going to hell anyway regardless of your belief and worship of God.

I'm on college campuses every week.  I find that very hard to believe.  I would agree that any percentage is too many, but 20% seems exceedingly high.

I suppose the previous successes when the U.S. promoted peace in the region with a neutral position,,, are just a mirage.

Unfortunately, too many in our country see dropping more weapons into the region is our "best" course of action.

While I agree with your sentiment, and it might lessen the severity of the situation - it doesn’t come close to fixing it.  A sincere question: as a liberal, how do you reconcile how to coexist with a Muslim culture that doesn’t democratize (Egypt and turkey are the closest and still aren’t democracies), are women and gay cultural train wrecks,  and consistently radicalizes into jihadist terror groups (it isn’t just because of a western response - even in Indonesia where there are no border disputes it’s a huge issue)?

While I disagree with those that support Israel  not matter what, I also think the left doesnt truly accept the scale of problem and that it’s going to take more than mandating hugs.
