Great to be back in, got some work to do this week to stay there. Don't see how Gonzaga is still ranked. Living off past reputation, I guess.

Virtually every AU men's basketball fan (including me) is still upset with the way that final 4 game ended.  But in fairness, it wasn't UVA's fault...blame rests with the officials.  If the shoe had been on the other foot, we would have gladly taken the W and moved to the finals just like they did.  Sucks, but it is what it is.

I still want to know if that Kansas City Sports writer who says he didnt put us at #1 back during our run in the Jabari year cause he ranks based off computer polls is now putting us in the top ten because of those same computer polls?

So I went and looked it up. Jesse Newell gave up his AP voting ballot slot in 2022 and moved over to cover the KC Chiefs. Sure it had nothing to do with him being a running joke to the world of basketball.

Who says Auburn Twitter isn't good for anything?

Great week for Auburn! Not only did we get 2 impressive wins this week, but 8 teams ranked 12 spots or less above us in the polls lost this week. So we should move into the top 20.

Auburn basketball jumps into ESPN's Power Rankings

JD McCarthy

Nelson Chenault-USA TODAY Sports

It is safe to say that the country is starting to take notice of Bruce Pearl and Auburn basketball. The Tigers are riding a seven-game winning streak and just beat Arkansasby 32 points in Bud Walton Arena, the biggest loss in the arena’s storied history.

That win has caught the attention of the national media and the Tigers are starting to get the recognition they deserve after starting the season 12-2 and outscoring their opponents by 19.1 points per game

ESPN’s Jeff Borzello updated his weekly power rankings on Monday and the Tigers made their season debut at No. 15.

Bruce Pearl’s team has been a metrics darling all season, but it picked up arguably its best win of the campaign on Saturday, drubbing Arkansas on the road by 32 points. They’re clearly a top-three team in the SEC. They’re deep, experienced and led by Johni Broome, who is playing like one of the best big men in college basketball. He’s averaging 18 points, 10.3 rebounds and 3 blocks over his past four games.

The metrics were just as impressed by Auburn’s win over the Razorbacks, Auburn starts the week as the No. 5 team in KenPom. Ranking No. 9 in both offensive and defensive efficiency, they are one of only four teams to be inside the top 10 in both metrics, alongside Houston, Purdue and Arizona.

Auburn will look to make another statement on Tuesday when they host the Texas A&M Aggies in their SEC home opener. The game is set to start at 8 p.m. CT and will be on the SEC Network.

Time to beat Buzz Williams! His team will be desperate after an embarrassing home loss to a bad LSU team Saturday night. Hopefully, he won't resort to his usual bush league tactics like stepping onto the court and getting in opposing players' way during the game.

He will, but our coach gets way out on the court too.

I think Buzz does it to the point of obstructing plays. All a player has to do is have the nerve to run into him, and Buzz will get a technical.

Someone needs to lay him out

cardwell is too nice to do it but that 255 pounds pancaking buzz would be fun.

if we had a betting line … who would be most likely to flatten buzz … my vote is Broome.

At one time in the Arkansas game Bruce was on the court the farthest I have ever seen a coach including Buzz (and I watch a lot of basketball).  The referee finally came over and stood in front of him and started walking backwards herding him to the sideline.  I was telling the family that Bruce needs to back up, dang, he looks like he is playing wing.

Purdue, Houston, Kansas, and UT have all gone down in the past 24 hours. Highly ranked teams are dropping like flies!

The road is a dangerous place. Those losses make Auburn's win at Arkansas look even better

Arkansas lost second SEC game so that win is less impressive now, but still  an SEC road win.

Arky is prob going to fall out of the top 100 in NET - if they haven’t already - but as everyone knows, they’ll be in contention in March once these ragtags are acclimated

This is a season where rankings are going to fluctuate often and losses will be plentiful. As long as Auburn can hold serve at home and win on the road against the average to bad in conference, they’ll be a top 4-5 seed in the NCAA and probably top 25. Which is basically where most of his best teams here have finished as.
