Electronic election theft machines?

The makers of these electronic election machines has promised that he'll "deliver the votes" for Bush in 2004. The software in these machines is routinely changed "after" certification and there's no paper trails after an election is concluded. These machines have already been tested in one election; 2002's Georgia Governor's race where all polls leading up to the election and all exit polls the day of the election showed the Democrat easily winning re-election. The news that night described it as a huge upset as the Republican won the election. Of course, I'm sure this won't seem to be a problem if you're a conservative. Stealing elections is commonplace.

Wally O'Dell, the company's chief executive, is a Republican fundraiser. He writes letters to wealthy Bush contributors vowing to "deliver" his state's electoral votes to the Bush campaign. He hosts campaign meetings at his house. He's also a member of Bush's "Rangers and Pioneers" club (each member of whom must contribute at least $100,000 to the 2004 re-election campaign).

This is scary. When a CEO of a company that makes voting machines guarantees to deliver an election to Bush, you gotta wonder if that means going the extra mile to do whatever it takes to make good on that promise. And then, why stop at Ohio when you can deliver any other state that uses his machines?

Oh, he's already made the same promise to Republican governors of other states!! I guess we'll be accused of whining about this, too. I just hate to see our great nation being hijacked and so many people being so gleeful about it. Republican or Democratic, absolute power corrupts!! When ALL of our freedoms have been taken away, NO ONE will be able to protest then, including those going along with the erosion of our freedoms today.
