Several have asked about Auburn's 2006 schedule. The last I saw was:

Sept.

2 Wash. St Home

9 Miss. St.

16 Ark. St. Home ??

23 Tulane Home ??

30 South Carolina

October

7 Arkansas Home

14 Florida Home

21 LSU Home

28 Ole Miss

Nov.

4 Temple Home ??

11 Georgia HOme

18 bama

Note that three games have question marks. The teams and/or location were TBD last I knew.

Sounds pretty accurate. We had Villanova scheduled but dropped them, which means...no 1-AA games next year, woo-hoo!! (though Temple is barely 1-A, I must admit)

You forgot one:

December

2  Georgia Dome, opponent TBA

202986[/snapback]

That's right, and just to be greedy:

January

2, Sugar Bowl. Opponent TBA

8, National Championship game. Opponent TBA

Remember when AU's upcoming year's schedule was readily available at the AU Web Site. That was before it became new and improved and we were charged for broadcasts. Perhaps for 20 pieces of silver they would put it back. PT, you're the money man . . . Have AUE document the deal before you pay!

Just so no one gets all excited about these last two, we would not play in both of them, only one.

The New and Improved BCS does in fact has a National Championship Game, but it is not a "Plus One" format. It is simply an additional game that is played after the bowls. The two teams that are chosen for it do not play in a bowl game prior to this game.

So, to be accurate, we should take the Sugar out of our proposed schedule.

Damn the people at the NCAA, making this stuff complicated and getting our hopes up for a playoff.

If tulane lets go of it's athletics program, any word on who we would get to replace them. I would think it would be a 1-aa team on such short notice.

I'm confused...what's the point in having a National Championship game a week after the game if it's not a plus one game? Isn't that the exact same thing we have now, but basically saying we have a fifth BCS game, and tat the NC is a week later instead of two days later? It still won't solve any controversies about who should be there. It must have taken a real all-star, highly paid comittee to come up with this one.

Man, I was just thinking the same exact thing. Instead of FIXING the BCS mess, they INCREASE it by adding ANOTHER BCS game????
