quietfan 233 Posted May 3, 2006 Share Posted May 3, 2006 Next time anyone is tempted to "blame the refs", consider this and know things could be worse: http://www.newsoftheweird.com/archive/index.html The Nigerian Football Association advised its referees in March that they could accept money from teams (since "bribery" is considered part of the way of life in Nigeria), but that they should only pretend to agree to treat the briber favorably because they have a duty to call a game fairly. Which would be more frustrating: Paying refs who still don't call things in your favor, or spending $100,000 on a fat high school lineman who never really contributes and eventually transfers?
