Greg Smith

He needs 7 more hours to graduate from CC due to what appears to be an error by the community college.

It is believed that these classes are electives and should not be hard for him to pass. He is already enrolled in these classes but they do not end until after summer practice begins.

The coaches are going to hold his scholarship and hope that he reports to Auburn a few days after practice begins.

Even if he makes it on campus, it is going to be hard for him to get in shape in time for the Wash St. opener, although I think he could be ready to play later in the season.

Damn.... Implications on Rivals is that he wasn't going to qualify at all.

VERY RELIEVED he'll make it to camp. Listen, all Greg needs to do is go in there and sit down - Noone's moving a 330 DL...

We're going to be very STRONG with Greg on campus.

I'm counting the days!

On second thought

It was reported last week that defensive tackle recruit Greg Smith passed the one class he needed in order to be eligible to attend Auburn for the fall.

Turns out, there is more work to be done.

Smith submitted his paperwork for graduation and learned that hours he previously completed at Northeast Mississippi Community College were seven hours short of completing the requirements at Chattanooga St. Junior College, where he took the pre-calculus class.

So now Smith, who stands 6-1 and weighs 320, has enrolled in second semester classes at Chattanooga St. and those classes won’t be completed until Aug. 4 or 5, according to Smith.

Auburn begins two-a-days on Aug. 1, so it remains to be seen if Smith will get here by the fall.

Stay tuned, there will be more news on this matter in the coming month or in early August.

this guy's guidance counselor needs to be fired
