Police arrest two brothers for disorderly conduct

Two brothers were arrested for disorderly conduct late Wednesday night, after three Bangor police officers responded throughout the afternoon to their drunken brawls at four different locations.

John Krumpter, 43, of Staton, N.Y., and Phillip Krumpter, 41, of Midvale, Utah, had been arguing all afternoon and causing damage to the room they were occupying at the Motel 6 on Hammond Street, according to the hotel manager and police reports.

When Bangor police Officer Rob Angelo arrived at the scene at 4:30 p.m., he spoke with the eldest brother, who admitted to the fight.

Neither man was cooperative when Angelo asked them to gather their belongings and leave the property.

The brothers, who were both intoxicated, threw their clothes over the balcony and into the lower parking lot, and were given warnings for disorderly conduct, according to police reports.

Fifteen minutes later, Angelo was called to Hammond Lumber to find the same men fighting with staff members and among themselves in the parking lot. He issued them another warning and sent them to the Hope House in a taxicab.

Bangor police Officer James Hassard received a report at 6:30 p.m. of two men fighting near the intersection of Corporate Drive and Venture Way in Bangor.

The Krumpter brothers, still intoxicated, were both shirtless and arguing with each other near the roadway, according to police reports. They were issued a third warning and promised to go back to the Hope House.

Later that evening, Bangor police Officer Daniel Herrick gave the brothers an additional warning after staff at the Hope House complained that the two were arguing in the parking lot.

When they continued arguing at this location, Angelo arrested the Krumpters around 10:30 p.m. and transported them to Penobscot County Jail.

During the drive, the brothers got into a yelling match and began kicking each other, according to police reports.
