Too bad OUR losers don't learn from MEXICO's losers.

After exhausting every legal means to challenge the narrow loss in Mexico's July 2nd election, candidate Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador has transformed his image of a charismatic leader into a marginal figure, even with in his own party. By sowing the seeds of unrest and failing to accept the constitutional rules for resolving the close election, Obrador has lost the battle for public opinion. The problem, is that Obrador's most die hard supporters vow to continue a campaign of civil disobedience. Such talk doesn't sit well with foreign investors, which could cripple the countrys stability in the global marketplace.

Obrador has gone from victim to victimizer. To protest the current situation, he directed his supporters to seize a five - mile stretch of one of Mexico City's most commercially imotant boulevards. The move paralyzed traffic throughout the city and hurt local businesses. Mexico City had overwhelmingly supported Lopez Obrador, who served as mayor from 2000 to 2005. But it seemd to many that he was punishing the very city that had nearly delivered him the presidency. A former supporter chastiesed Obrador for this fiasco, calling it an act of " profound callousness" .

Furthermore, Obrador's allegations were unfocused and onctradictory. One day he claimed computer based fraud, and on another, an error in the old fashion ballots.

Sound familiar ?

Here in the US, both Gore and Kerry whine and bitch about similar problems. From hanging chads to 'faulty' computer voting booths, the Democrats have tried over and over again, and failed , to show any sort of GOP 'conspiracy' or wrong doing.

At least in Mexico, the rest of the country is moving forward. Wish the Left here would learn something from our amiegos to the South.
