did anyone see the "4 downs" segment on Sportscenter just now?

They were basically calling USC unbeatable

saying they have like 5 all-american running backs even with the transfer of emmanuel moody.

If USC played in the SEC they would go 9-3 this year, but they don't. Oregon State and Cal might give them a challenge for 3 quarters. The Trojans will leave Lincoln bloodied and bruised but with a win. USC has the easiest path to an undefeated regular season, no contest. No conference title game either.

It will be a different story in the BCS title game though. Can't wait to see what Dorsey, Groves, or Chizik's old recruits at Texas will do to J.D. Booty (see Troy Smith vs Gator D).

It's all about perception. If you keep saying something enough times, folks will eventually begin to believe it. They've been hammering us with USC being the greatest program in the history of the universe for several years now. I give them their due and I do think they have the best OVERALL program going right now. But, that doesn't mean they're so far ahead of everyone else that there's no reason to play the games.

They lost to some Beavers and Bruins last year and just like in all the years prior, came close to getting beat by several others. Bottom line, you can get the best players from around the country if you're willing to pay enough and know that the NCAA will never even sniff at your doorstep.

By the way, how IS that Reggie Bush investigation going these days?
