Duder 238
MAJOR sludge problem in a used car--mechanic said it took four hours to drain the oil. He dropped/cleaned the pain, replaced the sending unit and pick-up tube has been cleaned but much still remains. I'm apprehensive about putting an engine cleaner in such a mileage car 100k+ for fear of knocking huge particles loose and blowing the engine up anyway. So, anyone here comfortable taking part of the engine apart and cleaning it? You will obviously be well-compensated for your time and I will bring the car to you. tigerchris 243
You should try this before spending alot of money. Go to a local parts store. There is an oil additive "cant remember the name" that you add to your engine oil BEFORE you change it. It shouldn't hurt your engine. After you put it in, you let your car idle to normal temperature say 20 minutes. Then let the engine cool for a while and drain your oil. I recommend going back with MOBIL 5000 oil. 10w30 for our area. I work in the commercial landscaping business, but we have a 3 bay shop and I spent about 6 hrs a day for 8 years helping in the shop. Try this place for some info Oreilly Auto Parts 5941 Wall Triana Hwy Madison, AL 35757 256-772-7960 ask for lawrence this is who we use for parts. hope this helps.
