Lost to Purdue

Recommended Posts

A few years ago we were playing only patsy teams early in the season and we fans were getting our hopes up every year. These past few years with legitimate opponents in the pre-conference season the dreams die earlier. We are now 2-5 against the Big Boy teams.

We are leaving untold numbers on base and yesterday's loss included five Auburn errors in the field.

I'm starting to think it's better to be deluded early instead of having to face stark reality so soon. What do y'all think?

Haven't ERRORS and RUNNERS LEFT ON BASE been two of our biggest issues in the past several years?? Even with some of our poorer pitching staffs, errors and lack of hits with RISP have been our downfall.

Yep, same ol' same ol'. I'd add runners making really dumb decisions while on base, or simply being asleep there to the list. Those three things have been a constant. Big bats or little bats, reasonable pitching or poor pitching have varied but errors, left on base and getting picked off or otherwise out while on base have been Auburn plagues.
