Gray Team Takes Game 1 of Fall World Series 6-2

Recommended Posts

The pitching of Jon Luke Jacobs and Sean Ray helped lead the Gray Team to a 6-2 series-opening win in the Auburn baseball team’s annual Fall World Series on Thursday night at Plainsman Park.

Jacobs, who got the start, and Sean Ray, who came in for Jacobs, each went three innings on the night while Zach Blatt followed with a perfect seventh to give Coach Jarrett’s team a one-game lead in the three-game series.

Ryan Jenkins was the star offensively, getting a pair of RBIs on two hits, including a double, while Dan Gamache also had two hits in the win.

The series continues on Friday at 6pm when Stephen Kohlscheen tries to even things up for the White Team against Gray Team starter Grant Dayton.

Man, I am optimistic for a postseason run this year. If the pitching is considerably better, as most think it will be, then we have a shot.  That part of the year is a blast when our baseball and basketball teams are playing good.
