He signed his LOI to play with Auburn next year. Has anybody seen him play enough to know his strengths and weaknesses.

Based on his father's strengths, we better hide the women.

^^This^^

The daddy must have had 82 kids with 82 different women!  :dunno:

This is one awesome signing!    For a program like Auburn to sign someone like this in Basketball, is like the football team pulling in 10 five star recruits.  Good work Lebo!

:wedance:

  • 3 months later...

Hate to chime in 4 months later, but I was wondering the same thing. I remember watching Kemp and in his prime he was an all star.  So I am excited about this recruit, but I look back and can't remember many kids of NBA players turn out as good, can anyone else?

Jordan sons were busts, Ewing son was pretty good, Stephen Curry was really good, but can anyone name others?

What does it matter how other's sons turned out? This guy is nationally regarded as a top prospect. Big pickup for Lebo.

Wasn't really saying that it mattered, more of a question of if anyone knew of any other son's of former pro players that also turned out to be good.

But my question was if he was supposed to be good and stating that it was exciting to get a name like that at Auburn....but Drox answered it... thanks!

Above are the rankings from the SEC page of ESPN's Insider rankings by Scout.  Auburn's players are ALL ranked lower than the lowest ranked recruits for other schools except one.  This is very troubling.

Obviously they are all talented. Beyond that, the rankings are subjective and do not matter, just someone's observation as to one player being better then another...nothing more, nothing less...Look at syracuse this year, arguable the best team in the country with 1 top 150 player...

That's what's troubling. In 2008,  only Auburn had no Top 100 players in the SEC.  In 2009, Auburn, Alabama, and Mississippi had zero Top 100 players.  In 2010, Auburn, Arkansas, and Georgia have zero Top 100 players.

There's a huge problem here.

I think we have the same perspective for the most part, just disagree on the talent level of the players we signed early on. Do not get me wrong, I am not saying that this class will come in and win a national championship next year, but I do think that they are talented as a whole and something to build on. Your point is taken regarding the top classes in the SEC, but I think this early signing class is a nice one..
