The awards for Hunter Morris’ weekend at Georgia

keep pouring in as CollegeBaseballInsider.com named the junior the

National Hitter of the Week and the College Baseball Foundation placed

him on this week’s National All-Star Lineup.

Already named the NCBWA National Hitter of the Week and the SEC Player

of the Week, Morris is collecting all of the accolades after his

explosive offensive outburst at Georgia when he hit a team-best .625

(10-for-16) with a double and four home runs, driving in 14 RBI. In

Friday’s opener he was 4-for-6 with five RBI and then he was 5-for-6

with nine RBI in a sweep-clinching win on Sunday, hitting a pair of home

runs, including his first career grand slam. He finished the weekend

with a 1.438 slugging percentage, scored seven runs and had a pair of

stolen bases as Auburn picked up its first sweep in SEC play since the

2003 season.

Morris enters Wednesday night’s non-conference tilt against No. 16

Alabama in the Capital City Classic with a .418 batting average, second

in the conference to Alabama’s Taylor Dugas.

Wednesday night’s game begins at 7pm CT with pregame festivities

beginning at 6:30pm. The game will be video streamed live on WSFA.com.

Auburn returns home this weekend for three games against No. 14 South

Carolina. Game times are set for 6:30pm on Friday, noon on Saturday and

1pm on Sunday. Fans are reminded that the Saturday game has been moved

up from its original start time to accommodate television as the game

will air live on CSS and also be video streamed live on ESPN360.com.
