They could bring up the LSU score couldnt they?

Let's compare this...

:au: squeaking on out over a defending natl champ top 10 :corndog: team (at that time anyway) and blowing away pretty much everyone else so far

USC squeaking one out over a team with a tree for a mascot :roflol: and squeaking out another one to their conference "rival" and ANOTHER one in the fog in ANOTHER conference game against a total patsy team!

hmmmmmmm.....................................

The one they squeaked out against cal looks pretty good considering where cal is ranked right now.

Defending natl champs doesnt weigh as heavily when the same team loses by 30 to UGA and struggles at home against Troy.

Im not saying you guys dont deserve 3rd...im just saying USC and OU have just as much of an argument to be where they are as AU does to be 2nd.

Up until now...at what point would you have bumped OU or USC for AU? When OU beat ranked opponents on the road in either of the last two weeks? or how about when USC had a close win on the road against a team that sent that same LSU team to OT in red stick?

With regards to OU, they surrendered 70 points in the last two games vs those opponents. A&M lost to Baylor the week before....BAYLOR! OSU is completely one dimensional, as is Texas, if they have to throw they are in trouble. Both of these OU wins were less than impressive and frankly they should have lost them both. So, I would have moved AU to #2 this past week...I don't dispute that USC is #1, but I am confident that we would beat OU if we played them. If AU takes care of business over the next few weeks, we'll hopefully get our shot at SC.

There are sound reasons to have any of the top three ranked in any order. USC and OU started at 1 and 2, and, historically, if they don't lose, they don't drop. Just the way it is. We started low because of last season. We win, we move up. Kept winning, kept moving up. And if we win out, we may move up, we may not. We have no control over the polls. The only control the team has is to go out, win every game and impress the voters enough that they have to move us up. A squeaker win this weekend should do us no harm, but a convincing win may not do us any good, either. I find it just as frustrating as anyone else. But all we can do is continue to win, and let the cards fall where they may.
