That's the AP poll. Just look at the top 12 teams. Forget the won loss record. These are very good teams. I don't understand how you can JUST pick the best team based on the record.

In Division IIA, I have watched the University of North Alabama win four (4) straight championships some years ago in the playoffs. Several teams that had lost a game were the hardest to beat in the playoffs.

Shorten the season to nine games, have the conference Championship and then try and pick the best eight and have a three game playoff. Lose a game and your eliminated. Enough money would be made to reward all Division IA for the shortened season. Winning team is 13-0.
