I think its the MSU game for me too. If not, the TAMU game was another one I wish wouldve ended differently. I would think after the Iron Bowl and Nick Marshalls 456 yd and 3 TD performance, the JJ comments wouldve stopped.

Mine would be the offense pass interference call in the MSU game. I think our season turned on that call.

If I could change one play, I agree with this one. It's hard to blame one call for a loss, but I think if the proper no-call was made on that play, we beat MSU.

If I could change one "thing", it would be all the police problems, unknown problem with Threzie at the beginning of the season and Whitehead's "whatever it was" difficulty. Poor leadership and example setting from this senior class was as disappointing as the losses, and IMHO, had a lot to do with those losses.

That being said, my pre-season prediction was 9-3 so they didn't do much worse that I expected. Of course, I had hoped they'd finish 15-0 but 9-3 looked about right for this team after the losses of Lawson and Kozan to injury, Threzie's early absence and the legal clashes of Marshall and Mincy.

I would have liked to have seen us handle the loss to aTm better. I think we were still thinking about that game and let UGA take advantage. We let the aTm game beat us twice.

Some good suggestions

...the PI call against Sammie vs MSU

...the Lawson injury

...the Whitehead suspension

...Duke's injury forcing him to miss the UGA game

...the TAMU goal line fumble (or the one of our last drive)

...the clock management debacle at the end of the 1st half of the Iron Bowl.

I'll go with the TAMU goal line fumble. If we punch that one in, I think we close that one out. And I think it cast a funk over the rest of the season, certainly the UGA game.

My next one though would be the end of the 1st half vs Bama. If we punch that one in, it's 30-21 at halftime, then we came out and got a turnover and a TD on our first drive of the 2nd which would have put it at 37-21. I think that changes the complexion of the game considerably. Instead we only led 33-21 and added to our frustration in the 1st half of not scoring TDs.

We wouldn't have made it apparently anyway. Hard for me to believe a 2loss Auburn is gonna jump TCU and BU

It's possible. Had we won out after aTm, there would have been a three-way tie with us, MSU and Bama at the top. We would have won the tie breaker. Beating Mizzou would have had us at 11-2 with by far the toughest schedule. No team in the current playoff has more than 4 wins over people ranked in the final 25. We would have had 6 wins. And we didn't fall that far after the aTm game...only to 9th. Close the season with road wins over a Top 10 UGA, a Top 5 Bama and a neutral site win over Top 15 Mizzou? I bet the final four would have been:

1. Oregon

2. FSU

3. Ohio State

4. Auburn

The goal line fumble vs aTm. That was a killer and we'd be going for a 10 win season if it weren't for that. Puts a totally different spin on the season imo.

Of course, several other things I'd like to change but ya only asked for one. :)

There is indeed that possibility, and this final four has shown that all of the talk of the SEC getting two teams in had no substance. They made a clear statement that conference championships, specifically one determined by a championship game, do matter. Auburn winning out and going to Atlanta would have likely taken them over Baylor and TCU. TCU won big and still dropped two spots.

We see how the committee handled a hard decision by just dropping out TCU. How do you think they would've handled TWO 1 loss teams (one of which blew out our only common opponent and the other scored 82 points on a D1 teams)?

I think it was a given, this year, that no conference was going to get two teams. They just were not going to go down that road in the first season if they could find any way at all to not do it.. Money is a big factor and in future years they might take a 1 loss non champion team like Auburn or LSU or Alabama.
