SEC announces 2021-22 men’s basketball league schedule

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.— The 2021-22 Auburn men's basketball Southeastern Conference schedule with opponents and dates has been released by the league office Thursday.

Each SEC team plays the other 13 teams at least one time during 18-game schedule. They will then play their three permanent opponents a second time with the remaining two games changing annually.

Auburn's three permanent home-and-home opponents include Alabama, Georgia and Ole Miss. The Tigers are also scheduled to face Florida and South Carolina twice during the league slate.

Auburn tips off the SEC schedule on Dec. 29 inside Auburn Arena when it welcomes LSU.

The Tigers open the new year on Jan. 4 at South Carolina before returning home on Jan. 8 against Florida. After consecutive road games at Alabama (Jan. 11) and at Ole Miss (Jan. 15), the Tigers will at home for back-to-back tilts against Georgia (Jan. 19) and Kentucky (Jan. 22).

After a trip to Missouri on Jan. 25, Auburn will host future league opponent Oklahoma for the first time in program history in the Big 12/SEC Challenge on Jan. 29.

The month of February begins with a home game against Alabama on Feb. 1 followed by consecutive road games at Georgia (Feb. 5) and at Arkansas (Feb. 8). Auburn will return for a pair of home games with visits from Texas A&M (Feb. 12) and Vanderbilt (Feb. 16) in the Tigers lone meeting of the season with the two schools. 

Auburn will conclude a pair of home-and-home series when it plays at Florida on Feb. 19 and at home against Ole Miss on Feb. 23. The Tigers wrap up February with a trip to Tennessee on Feb. 26.

The SEC slate wraps up with a trip to Starkville, Miss., on March 2 at Mississippi State and the last regular season home game at Auburn Arena on March 5 against South Carolina.

The SEC Tournament returns to Tampa Bay, Fla. for the first time since 2009 when Amalie Arena hosts the event from March 9-13.

Tipoff times and broadcast information is set to be announced at a later date.
