  1. And I quote: "He's horrible. No way anybody can make him be anything more than that. Like let's be real" I'm glad you were taking it easy on him, wow, I'd hate to see harsh.
  2. Easy big fella, it's just a conversation.
  3. Well sure, we can just wish a million dollars on it and poof, it'll happen! My point is look at Leary this year. By all accounts he was a premium QB that was brought in to elevate their QB play at great expense. It doesn't always work, doesn't mean you can't try, it isn't my money so knock it out.
  4. Conversely if they were to beat UGA it would prove the committee wrong. Their defense is pretty nasty.
  5. Or maybe they're saying upgrade OL and WR and the QB will play better by default, in addition to having a year under his belt. It isn't rocket science. Now it's debatable whether it would be better play than getting a gunslinger that will have to get use to whatever scheme we run and all our players. Other than Cam I can't think of many one year QBs that have been successful, I'm sure there are some but I'm not sure the percentages of getting championship play from a one year guy. And that's all this is, a bridge to get White under center.
  6. As I see it Thorne didn't play great for most of the season but did have a few good games AND: Was learning a new offense, With mediocre receivers he didn't have time to develop a good sense of timing with, With a lackluster OL, While adjusting to the SEC defensive speed, And being subjected to the most idiotic QB rotation I've ever witnessed. So if you want to bang on him and hope we get an awesome portal QB (that will go through the same things he has minus HOPEFULLY the mediocre receivers, lackluster OL, and idiotic rotation) then by all means. But I saw enough to think he was catching on to the speed of the game and learning the offense to think he would be a decent game manager next year.

    LOL UGA

Sure, it's been an epic run, and one of our 2 primary rivals was going to win, but the thought of UGA getting a 3-peat was leading up to unbearable smugness from their fanbase. And I kind of like the idea of them going 12-0 regular season and getting bupkis for it. (Oh great, they won the East...yay) Maybe I'm just numb to $puat winning, but at some point, one more in their 215 SEC championships really doesn't matter. So here's to you UGA, you unbeaten regular season East champion.
  8. Kirby did it just like Saban did by buying juss before it was legal so he got a little head start. A weak east has only helped. In as little as 2 to 3 years with TX and OK joining, divisions going away and NIL in full swing, I see their shine wearing off.
  9. Any chance someone could update the commit/target list in the OP? Doesn't look very current and would love to be able to skip 66 pages for the breakdown.
  10. I would just go ahead and be POed, pretty sure nobody here will notice.
  11. Ok, I'll just have to disagree. The numbness of how awful the OL has been prior to this year may have made this year seem like they weren't bad but they weren't good. I could buy into improved or better but that's just my opinion.
  12. You serious Clark? Saban was using NIL before it was cool... or legal.
  13. And that's what happens when your 2 deep is 4 and 5 stars with half being future nfl players
  14. Maybe some did, and the other 99.9% felt more awful for the young man than they did about losing the game. It's just that social media is custom made for @**holes. Every family has an @**hole, and if you think yours doesn't, guess what......
  15. What this says to me is "if I say no then I have less leverage to drive my price up with $puat". He could have said heck they have a shot but chose to go negative. Of course I'm no psychologist.
  16. $puat fans have been at a point for a while where they don't enjoy winning as much as they hate losing. Let them have their cornbread. Personally I'm a little embarrassed for them that it was so close.
  17. Dude, you have to adjust for the "hit in hands" WR drops which were at least 2 if not several more.
  18. I've always been of the mind you don't want to give the offense additional time to discuss their options or get the players on the same page. Make them make pressure decisions.
  19. Cool, I thought Bo had the same ability he is showing this year but that our OL was a hot mess while he was here which made him look 100% worse than he is. I was comparing Thorne to McCarron and McElroy, which I still think, surround him with similar WRs and OL and I think he's plenty good.
  20. Obviously you are incorrect.
  21. I'm curious, and too lazy and indifferent to look it up, did you feel the same way about Bo Nix? Cause a lot of people did, while totally ignoring what a tire fire our OL was. Now don't get me wrong, he does hold the ball too long too often, stares down receivers, and makes the wrong read more than he should, but dude is a transfer and had little time to get up to speed with his new teammates, who are also getting use to an entirely new staff. Personally I think Thorne could be a solid game manager type QB (ala most QBs $puat has had prior to Tugabeluga) with more time in the system, better OL and WRs. But hey, you can trash a player all you want.
  22. He's a senior and highly rated. Why would he come back?
