  1. I would also love to see a situational big lineup with Jabari at the 3. Don't think this is something we can use a lot, but situationally would be fun to watch.
  2. Really happy for Malik. Hope he is the 1st QB taken.
  3. No need to have the no contact jersey for any qb on the roster unless they are injured. Need full contact to see who separates.
  4. Perhaps he does not like to play with the big boys at Thompson. This is somewhat unfair of a statement but one is left to wonder why he hangs around Mars Hill for hours and practically has to be asked to leave but cannot seem to find his way to Thompson for a quick hello. Thompson is no doubt an uphill climb considering where their "funding" comes from for all those nice facilities (it ain't local sales tax), but my goodness coach they have multiple five stars most years.
  5. I resent that. I have 2 1/2 years of coaching 10U flag football. It would have been 3 years but I fired my WR coach mid-game. They did not think it was a good reflection on sportsmanship. Whatever! I'm over it.
  6. Yes, he did spend a season at Samford coaching running backs and a season at MTSU coaching receivers. He has clearly worked very hard to become the coach he is today. As a player he exemplified what it is to put the team before the player and will be loved at Auburn because of that and his performance in the NC game. Wish him nothing but the best and hope he becomes a head coach soon.
  7. What I remember people saying most was that Auburn should not be a place where you learn the ropes. You should learn that somewhere else and then hone your craft at Auburn. Basically Kodi was doing his OJT at an SEC school which is a little unusual I believe. Now he worked hard and got better at both coaching and recruiting while at Auburn. There were certainly mistakes along the way however. A valid question does remain though: should Auburn be a place where a former player (I believe this is the only scenario that will exist) comes in as a position coach without putting in the work either at another school or as an analyst?
  8. Silver lining: this just gives Harsin time to get his "master plan" in place
  9. Glad to see he had some Pro experience with Buffalo. We are talking the Bills, right?
  10. He clearly has character so he will go far!
  11. Hope he does not end up on the other side of the state.
  12. If you are not hiring people that can challenge you, make you better, and have the potential to be better than you, why are you hiring them? If you are too insecure and just want yes men then so be it, but mediocrity will be your friend.
  13. Zags do not have the guard play required to win the tournament unless they get really fortunate with matchups.
  14. I know. Probably not my best effort. I respect his story and that clouds my vision. My apologies to you and yours.
  15. I disagree with this. Can he win football games? Can he compete for SEC championships? Can he consistently recruit talent at SEC level? I don't care where he is from. I thought Harsin could do that when he was hired. He still might be able to but he is evidently awful at instilling confidence in his plan with the folks that matter. He needs some work in that department.
  16. I was thinking that was announced over the weekend for some reason.
  17. Blake Anderson would be a good hire but probably too many similarities to CBH.
  18. Is Boise in North Alabama or South Alabama? Help me out a little, my dial up is a little slow and it takes about 30 minutes to load a map.
  19. And how are you related to the Harsins? Just curious.
  20. I don't like the guy either but some of his points are spot on. The Neville donation is a typical reach and hatchet job from a typical al.com writer. The idea of paying coaches less and funneling more through NIL is actually an idea he stole from Rick Neuheisel from his Sirius XM show. Neuheisel has been saying that since NIL was approved. But the part about the timing of the hiring and how the world has changed so much since is dead nuts on IMO. Not that I am advocating this, but had Malzahn squeezed out 1 more year of coaching and we were looking for a coach in December of 2021 or January 2022 we are probably looking at a completely different candidate.
  21. Is it just me or were many of us defending Harsin just a couple weeks ago? I know I was. Now I am confused. Now I feel the need to trash his recruiting (or lack of), talk about how much of a jerk he is, how he is a out of his league, etc.... This is very perplexing.
  22. The basketball forum brings enjoyment. The football forum brings pain. I'll give you $50 for the bball forum. You give me $100 for the football forum for my pain and suffering. Deal?
