I don't understand the gimmick offense portion of this. Nearly every team in college and pro is running some sort of this gimmick offense you speak of. The problem with Malzahn was that he did not evolve with time as the offense did in the hands of competent coaches.

Guards that impose their will on the opponent is the common theme of the elite eight teams. There have been dominant performances from guards. Hit three pointers in the high 30's from a % standpoint and 80% free throw shooting.

Things were just not right with Flan this year. There were times where he looked like a deer in headlights on the floor which you expect from a freshman but not Flan. It was as though he was learning a whole new offense. The thing we may not appreciate is that our offense has some gray areas or some fluidity gained through on court play/scrimmaging etc.. that he did not get due to injury. I cannot remember when he suffered the injury but if he missed all of this breaking in time with the new guys then that may explain it. I know the injury has its own mental hurdles to get over, but there was definitely more than just coming back from the injury with him. He just never could get into the flow on the offensive side. That might have something to do with the fact that he went from 1st option most of last season to 4th option at best this year.

Hope they make it. Today's victory should have sealed it but you never know. If they just don't want to take 7 SEC teams I will allow them to substitute TAMU for bama. I realize that might hurt the conference overall but I am a diplomat if anything.

I was not directing that at the players. This has been across two different coaching staffs with the defense always being solid and our offense seemingly the question mark every year with two different offensive minded coaches. CBH has only had one season so I won't say it is a trend under him yet but it seems to be a trend at auburn the last few years.

Very dangerous game. This one is on the team leadership. It will either shine or be revealed as lacking in this game. We should do exactly what bama did to them.
