AUrules, I love that photo of Kodi.  So glad he got to go out as a champion.

Absolutely! Even more so that he made that spectacular TD grab to open our scoring!!!

Drew announcing the 28th..

Link?? Source??

If true, I wonder why he would commit on a Friday when he has a whole weekend he could be on an official visit before making his decision.  :dunno:

Where will he be that weekend?

That actually makes me wonder a bit. Isn't Auburn having a big event for recruits on the 28th?

I think so. Would love to pick up this kid. Really think he could get some playing time next year even though we have some depth at DE.

Oh I definitely think he'll see the field next year, regardless of where he goes. He won't start at Auburn, but he's too good not to put on the depth chart.

I could see Drew in a 3rd and long specialist type roll, that McClover and Groves played their freshmen year.

Georgia blue-chipper Drew could decide between Auburn, Georgia next week

Published: Tuesday, January 18, 2011, 11:58 AM    Updated: Tuesday, January 18, 2011, 12:05 PM

By Doug Segrest -- The Birmingham News

Highly touted defensive end Ray Drew is scheduled to make an official visit to Clemson this weekend, his last one.

But the Georgia blue-chipper's decision on a college destination may already be narrowed to two schools.

"It depends on the day, but if I had to get it down to two, it would be Auburn and Georgia," said Thomas County coach Bill Shaver.

"Ray's big on relationships. Football is not as important as the relationships he has made."

The 6-foot-5, 250-pound Drew is a versatile athlete who leads the basketball team in scoring and finished top three in the shot put and discus as a junior.

But his performance at the U.S. Army All-American Game - "he was pretty much unblockable," Shaver pointed out - has his stock rising fast.

ESPN.com ranks him the nation's No. 3 prospect, Rivals.com lists him 28th and Scout.com just elevated him to No. 33.

Shaver said he believes Drew could make a decision as early as next week, and it will come down to relationships.

"He's very close to (Auburn defensive line coach) Tracy Rocker and the chaplain (Chette Williams)," Shaver said. "And he's very close to Coach (Mark) Richt at Georgia.

"Ray's an ordained minister and that connection is important to him."

"We have the best 4-3 in the SEC I hope your ready @Christian Lemay"

Someone asked what that meant and he said:

"I'm coming off one end another DE who I'm not sayin at this time and my D tackles are coming to get Lemay and ever other QB. That's what that means"

Someone else commented "yall headed to athens to play for a coach with character and faith"

His response:

"it's not stable enough"

Someone said they feel sorry for Lemay. His response:

"muddy murry too, haha that's what he's gonna be covered in haha"

May all be a joke, but this doesn't sound good for us.

He's been posting random stuff trying to get attention, but this is not sounding good for us."

'Just a little FYI, guys...  I have very good reason to believe we lead for Drew at this time.  I'm not saying that won't change but am feeling real good right now.

I feel pretty good about RD signing with AU.

Pay Attention to the MODS = looks really good at this point with Drew & AU

It's the first time I've had any info to offer that wasn't already here.  Saw it on DawgRant when I follow another link from here to the site.  I don't have much breaking news here in TX.
