Physical and Mental Toughness

Yeah, these coaches don't all of a sudden go brain dead and forget how to do what they have done for all of their professional careers. Someone told them that they will work the head coach's plan and will not deviate from it. Don't y'all remember how Chizik always used the "do what we do" and the "work the plan" sayings a couple of years ago?

One guy stated categorically that Chizik forced Yox to change his program. But he refuses to talk any further about it. That was several days ago and people have been asking for some further explanation.

… crickets …

And this is how it goes lol. How date someone look at the head of the strength program when players don't have strength. I know let's blame trooper or the Chaplin or boulware or bvg. Anybody or anything besides evaluating the strength coach..... lol. Players physically dominated consistently for two years by EVERYBODY on the field? ...... can't look at yox, he's been doing this for 15 years. Lol

LOL is right. You'd do well to take a break and understand that Yoxall works for Chizik. Did you whine constantly about Auburn being weak and getting pushed around, as you say, ever before now? Just curious because the same guy has been at the same job for 15 years now. Why now..all of a sudden..its all on him.. when its never been before?

Nobody said it's all on him but you're damn right he needs to be evaluated every year like anybody else. And yes I noticed we were weak a while ago. You'd do well to shut up and stop acting like you're the only person capable of forming an opinion. Apparently the o line did well 2010. If o line sucks next year with the same position coach I'm going to look at him. Not going to say he did a good job several years ago so he gets a pass for the rest of his life. Results matter in sports. Guess you haven't noticed

Well most of us are Adults and can make observations on our own without having to have a quote or a statistic thrown at us. Yox has been here for 15 years and has been very solid. To think he just forgot how to make people work out like was the case when Tubs was here is kinda naive

Well then using that logic why do any coaches that have ever been successful lose jobs? Why isn't Bobby Bowden coaching anymore and why did fsu improve when he left? Surely he didn't forget how to coach right?

Bad example. I think maybe he did forget. To his credit, he probably forgot more than you or I will ever know about coaching.

Lifting weights is lifting weights....sigh. Doesn't even compare remotely close to the dynamics of coaching...try again.

Oh. So it's a subjective observation. Not a fact. Got it. I agree with the logic, but it was stated like it was a fact. Like he KNEW. Well, he doesn't know. And neither do either one of us.

Fire Chizik.

Any coach that seemed like a good hire but turned out not to be. You could look at bvg. Has he forgotten how to coach? Everybody in a football program should be evaluated on a yearly basis. And if lighting weights is just lifting weights why do we suck at it?

lol, because apparently for one reason or another there isnt as much focus on it. Chiz has been noted in claiming to want a faster and leaner Defense.

Just to keep things in perspective when we read articles written by so called sports writers.

They get paid to sell stories, not be informative or completely accurate. Most subjects about SEC teams are written from the same people and "sources". Start looking at who wrote some of the articles for ESPN, USA today, CBS and others. Same writers making a paycheck spewing garbage.

Sex and violence sells.

If you are having a great season and you have "sex appeal" (Auburn 2010, Oregon, Alabama, etc) you will see tons of things written. Blue collar hard working teams without "sex appeal" get no love. (Louisville, Utah St., etc) When you have well established programs with problems they will be written into the ground while lesser known programs are not even noted.
