2010: Top JuCo in the country, Cam Newton, comes to Auburn and wins Heisman.

2013: Top JuCo in the country, Nick Marshall, comes to Auburn and wins Heisman in 2014.

2015: Top JuCo in the country, Jovon Robinson, comes to Auburn and wins Heisman.

...and all recruited & coached by Gus Malzahn!

Was Nick the top ranked Juco in 2013? I tried a quick google search but didn't find an answer at first glance. I'm thinking he was not.

Lets not forget Duke Williams who has a chance at Heisman as well.

I could be wrong on Nick Marshall, but I'm thinking he was. Also, seems like I saw someone yesterday mention CGM getting the top JuCo 2 years in a row...but that may have been an internet poster with no more certainty than I, and not someone actually in the know.

Technically, Duke has a shot, but not likely as a WR. Also not likely when Marshall, on his own team, will draw more Heisman attention. (Not exactly sure of Williams' eligibility left, but I suspect he's one & done, NFL bound, after this year anyway.)

I'm not gonna take bamas attempt seriously. With Henry and Drake eating up the carries next year, Jovon will be turned off bc I really think he wants to go one and done.

It will be a tough flip for bama to pull off. Jovon wanted to go to school at AU out of high school. Then within a month of us recruiting him again he has again commited to AU. That tells me this guy wants to play in Gus' offense and be at AU!

The only time Jovon showed any interest in a school other than Auburn was during the period when we weren't allowed to recruit him. I don't think the idea that he may go somewhere else is worth the time it would take to think about it.

I highly doubt that Jovon will flip. He seems to be pretty sold on AU. Swinney would be an idiot to go to bama. He doesn't fit the mold there, and would likely find his position listed as "kick return specialist".

Well, the thing is that if a wide receiver is to win the Heisman again, this would be a scenario where it could happen specifically because of how prolific the running game was last season. If Duke comes in and starts making highlight reel catches while the team catches fire, then a lot of talk will be about how much Williams' presence made the offense as a whole that much better. I could see him pushing 1,500 yards receiving, and with his size and body control, he's a likely target for a fade route close to the end zone. I wouldn't be particularly surprised to see him returning punts, as well, and if he puts up 20-25 touchdowns, then those kind of numbers could well win him the Heisman.

I do think Marshall has the better chance, because most to all of Duke's statistics will be reflected in Nick's stat line also, and Nick will be getting rushing yards/TDs as well, not to mention TD passes to other receivers. It's just that Duke Williams kinda reminds me of Calvin Johnson, and if Megatron had played for a team that was competing for a national championship, he might have won the Heisman himself.

I dunno...the way out running game rolls over people, I think that any of the RBs are happy to be considered to be an Auburn RB regardless of how many touches they get. It's a strange feeling, but I feel like that group shares the glory pretty well. I think about CAP last year, coming in as a JUCO primary back and seeing Tre get the majority of the touches, and he never complained at all.

I think the coaches foster a spirit of teamwork amongst the backs, teaching them to support one another all the way. Tre got the hot hand last year, so he got the bulk of the carries, but it's not like Malzahn and Lashlee forgot about the others. What that does for the RBs is to let them know that they don't have to carry the whole team, they can just do what they do and spread the wealth.

That cuts down on the risk factor for injuries too. Sharing the load, and coming in fresh in the 2nd half is a good thing. Just ask Marcus Lattimore.

If he's the rebirth of Bo Jackson and Hershel Walker that some seem to think he is, he'll certainly go straight from JUCO to the NFL. Me, I think he'll spend a season or two at Auburn before he moves on out.
